Congratulations to Dr. Riyaz Bashir and Thrombolex, Inc. for the state investment of $750,000 to further improve healthcare in Pennsylvania. The Innovation Nest was proud to host a press conference where Dr. Bashir gave a demonstration of his Bashir Endovascular Catheter and received a hug from Irving Vaughn, a patient who thanked him for saving his life. Jennifer Gilburg, PA's Deputy Secretary of Technology and Entrepreneurship at the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development, highlighted the "brilliant researchers leveraging state resources to develop life-saving therapies and drive economic growth" in the region. Senator Vincent Hughes celebrated the increased attention to the life sciences in PA.
