Inertial's first big win! Inertial was recently accepted into Cohort 2 of the Resurgence cleantech accelerator program run by the Polsky Center at the University of Chicago. This program aims to provide entrepreneurial education, guidance, and support to hard tech startups. We're so excited for this opportunity and can't wait to get started on Monday! Additional announcement: to take full advantage of the Resurgence program and to connect into the growing cleantech scene in Chicago, Inertial will be moving its operations to Chicago in the coming months. Inertial's goal is to remove 10 million tons of CO2 per year within 10 years, but what does that number mean? The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has a great tool for converting this into terms everyone can conceptualize. Removing 10 million tons of CO2 per year is equivalent to: -removing 2,159,116 gasoline-powered passenger vehicles from the road -offsetting the energy used by 1,183,056 homes -offsetting the carbon emitted by 24.2 natural gas-fired power plants -the carbon offset by operating 2,388 wind turbines -the carbon offset by 10,591,648 acres of U.S. forests Once you can visualize the scale we are aiming for, you start to see just how much of an impact Inertial can have in the race to net zero by 2050. https://lnkd.in/gPZHS66

Inertial's first LinkedIn post! Let's briefly cover who we are and what we do. Inertial is a pre-seed stage climate tech company commercializing utilities-scale carbon capture technology. To achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050 it is imperative to quickly bridge the gap from cutting edge research to real world applications. Inertial is working to bridge that gap for the supersonic inertial separation approach to carbon capture (fun fact: this is the inspiration behind the company name!) To bridge this gap, Inertial is seeking funding from private industry (VCs, industry partners, etc.) and non-dilutive government sources (SBIR/STTR grants and larger DOE/NSF/ARPA-E projects).
