Happy (almost) December! As we move into this season of gratitude and reflection, we are grateful for all of the community members who have visited our bookstore throughout the year. For December, we have a month of community bookstore programs with story times, author readings, community study sessions, open mics, and holiday offerings. Please note that the community bookstore will be closed December 25 - January 3. Visit www.indyreads.org/events for more information on all our events this month! #DoGoodReadMore #LiteracyForAll
关于我们
At Indy Reads, our mission is to build the literacy, English language, and job readiness skills to empower adults and families to reach their full potential. Our vision is 100% literacy for all. Indy Reads uses a Community Classrooms model and community programs in our bookstore to promote equity through literary and literacy events and classes. Our ELL, HSE, and certifications programs are available virtually, on-site in Fountain Square, and in Community Classrooms throughout Indianapolis at no cost to students. Your support and involvement is crucial to the success of our organization. Here are some of the ways you can get involved: Shop: In November 2021, we opened Indy Reads in Fountain Square. We sell new and used books for adults and children and run pay-what-you-can events for the community. The profits from the bookstore go directly toward improving literacy in our community through Indy Reads. The bookstore has several full and part time staff members, but it could not survive without the help our volunteers. Volunteer: Our organization would not be successful without the unwavering support of our volunteers. With the various programs we offer, there is sure to be a good fit for you. Visit our website to see how you can register to volunteer. Donate: We understand that not everyone has time to volunteer. Your financial support is also crucial in helping us realize our vision of 100% literacy for all. Become a member of our Literacy League as a recurring donor or make a one-time donation at indyreads.org/donate.

Are you ready to make an impact in your community? Indy Reads was founded 40 years ago as a volunteer-led initiative where neighbors of all education levels would meet to practice their reading skills together. Last year, we welcomed 321 volunteers into our English literacy and High School Equivalency classrooms, our community bookstore, and our offices for special projects. We are so grateful for every volunteer who has served alongside us to reach 100% literacy for all! If you would like to learn more about volunteering at Indy Reads and the difference you can make today, visit https://lnkd.in/gtFN7brW. Happy reading, and we'll see you soon! #DoGoodReadMore #LiteracyForAll
