关于我们
At Indy Reads, our mission is to build the literacy, English language, and job readiness skills to empower adults and families to reach their full potential. Our vision is 100% literacy for all. Indy Reads uses a Community Classrooms model and community programs in our bookstore to promote equity through literary and literacy events and classes. Our ELL, HSE, and certifications programs are available virtually, on-site in Fountain Square, and in Community Classrooms throughout Indianapolis at no cost to students. Your support and involvement is crucial to the success of our organization. Here are some of the ways you can get involved: Shop: In November 2021, we opened Indy Reads in Fountain Square. We sell new and used books for adults and children and run pay-what-you-can events for the community. The profits from the bookstore go directly toward improving literacy in our community through Indy Reads. The bookstore has several full and part time staff members, but it could not survive without the help our volunteers. Volunteer: Our organization would not be successful without the unwavering support of our volunteers. With the various programs we offer, there is sure to be a good fit for you. Visit our website to see how you can register to volunteer. Donate: We understand that not everyone has time to volunteer. Your financial support is also crucial in helping us realize our vision of 100% literacy for all. Become a member of our Literacy League as a recurring donor or make a one-time donation at indyreads.org/donate.

Indigenous Peoples' Day is an opportunity to give pause, thanks, and reflect on the many people around the world who struggle for their humanity, rights, lands, culture, and identity to be recognized and valued. Indy Reads is closed in honor of Indigenous Peoples' Day today, October 14, and our bookstore will be closed on Wednesday, October 16. Indy Reads offers English literacy services on Myaami, Kaskaskia, and Kiikaapoi land. Our community of adult students represent 48 different countries of origin and our wider community, including staff, volunteers, and neighbors represent many more recognized and often unrecognized territories. Today and every day we honor all Indigenous peoples in their continued struggle for their humanity, rights, lands, culture, and identity. ???? ???? ???? ???? ????
