关于我们
Our mission is to decarbonize heavy industry by 2045: cleaning up the processes we use to make steel, aluminum and other materials and advancing a circular economy. Today, industrial emissions 40% of global greenhouse gas emissions, making it the largest source of emissions. And, while other sectors like transportation and buildings are falling, emissions in the industrial sector are stuck. We partner with foundations and advocates to develop campaign strategies, support the execution of campaigns, and stand up diverse coalitions to tackle industrial sectors including steel, aluminum, waste and advancing a circular economy.

“Often called 'hard to abate,' we believe that heavy industry is not harder to abate than two billion internal combustion engines across the world, several billion structures that are all heated by fossil fuels, and tens of thousands of power plants. We just haven’t put the resources and attention into it yet, and we’re committed and excited to do that.”? — Nachy Kanfer, Partner, Industrious Labs ?? To wrap up our CTF 2024 Progress Report, our experts Natalya Yakusheva Jarlebring and Robert H?glund recently held a partner-exclusive webinar where we invited three of the projects from our CTF portfolio for a fireside chat. The chat was hosted by Robert, and he was joined by Mark West from Landesa, Industrious Labs’ Nachy Kanfer, and Freddie Catlow from Planboo. All participated in an insightful conversation and engaging thought leadership. Thank you Avanza Bank, BioGaia AB, Bolt, ING, Klarna, Mentimeter, Northzone, PANGAIA, Planet A Ventures, Spotify, and all our partners for driving sustainability leadership and making this possible! ?? ??? Recently, the U.S. Department of Treasury and Internal Revenue Service released final rules for the 45X Advanced Manufacturing Production Credit, offering critical funding to modernize the aluminum industry and ensure its competitiveness on the global stage. Aluminum Campaign Director Annie Sartor spoke with Fastmarkets about the newly expanded guidance: “With the industry’s downturn having significant repercussions for thousands of workers and communities — resulting in layoffs and curtailments — there’s an urgent need for intervention. This investment would not just be a critical step toward revitalization; it could be a lifeline for an industry in decline.” More???? https://lnkd.in/gvwp5fXD

“A lot of times people are led to believe that it’s genetics [that are causing the health impacts in communities near steel mills], and that’s a narrative that must change,” said Germaine Patterson, a community health worker in Clairton, Pennsylvania, who has witnessed these impacts firsthand. Our new report, Dirty Steel, Dangerous Air, emphasizes the need for stronger health protections for communities near coal-based steel and coke plants. Learn more:
