Concluded an enriching two-day training and workshop on the EU RFNBO Certification process, organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) Indo-German Energy Forum (IGEF-SO) and H2Uppp – International Hydrogen Ramp-Up Program, in collaboration with CertifHy, HINICIO, LBST & TüV SüD, and supported by GH2 India. The workshop brought together key decision-makers, senior experts, project developers, regulators, and policymakers to explore the EU certification requirements for Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBOs) in India. As the global energy transition accelerates, ensuring compliance with the EU Renewable Energy Directive (RED) is a critical step for India’s green hydrogen and green ammonia industries. Agrivoltaics and Energy Storage: A Perfect Symbiosis? ???? It was a pleasure to explore this topic as a panellist at the World Sustainable Development Summit?hosted by TERI - The Energy and Resources Institute. Both Agrivoltaics and Energy Storage have incredible potential for India, but when combined, they unlock even more unique and promising opportunities. He stated that clarity on certification has been one of his priorities since the beginning of his tenure as a Mission Director, National Green Hydrogen Mission (#NGHM), recognising its crucial role in shaping India's #greenhydrogen ecosystem. He highlighted that as industries actively explore offtake agreements, building expertise on EU RFNBO certification is critical for the future hydrogen economy. With a robust certification framework and industry coherence, access to global market will be crucially supported. Driving clarity on Green Hydrogen Certifications! On the 5th of March 2025, GH2 India was proud to co organize the EU RFNBO Certification Workshop in India, a crucial step in aligning India's green hydrogen ecosystem with global certification standards. Organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Indo-German Energy Forum (IGEF-SO), and H2Uppp – International Hydrogen Ramp-Up Program, this workshop brought together policymakers, regulators, and industry leaders to explore EU RED II certification requirements for hydrogen and PtX products. With India's evolving certification framework and growing role in the global hydrogen economy, this dialogue was essential in bridging gaps and fostering collaboration. A big thank you to CertifHy, HINICIO, LBST, TüV SüD, and all fellow cohorts for insightful discussions and presentations. We are looking forward to Day 2 of this workshop on the 7th of March, where we take up dynamic round table activities, practical case studies, and brainstorm about collaborations to accelerate the green hydrogen transition!
