Can your high school student research the Nobel Prizes? Absolutely. The Nobel Prize stands as one of the most prestigious awards in the world, honoring exceptional contributions in literature, science, and peace.? This year, Han Kang, a renowned novelist from South Korea, received the Nobel Prize in Literature, drawing attention from across the globe.? Her achievement is notable not only for her remarkable work but also because she became only the 18th woman to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature, compared to 103 male recipients, since the Nobel Prize's inception. This gender disparity raises important questions for young researchers: Why have so few women been recognized in this category? Are there deeper systemic or historical biases at play? Encouraging your child to explore topics like these can foster critical thinking, allowing them to examine the intersection of gender, merit, and global recognition. Researching such an important subject can help your child develop valuable analytical and inquiry skills that will serve them well in future academic pursuits. To learn more about how your high school student can begin their journey into research, check out the link to get started! https://bit.ly/49KNPyK --- What are your thoughts on this issue? Let’s discuss this in the comments!

We are beyond proud of the 60 incredible students who presented at our very first Indigo Academic Conference! ?? From September 7-8th, 2024, we watched students take the stage to showcase groundbreaking research on topics ranging from Technology and Engineering to Neuroscience and Environmental Health. It was an exciting 24 hours, packed with learning, innovation, and achievement! A huge thank you to our dedicated mentors, who not only guided these students but also participated in grading their work. Their expertise and support were invaluable in helping these young minds grow and succeed.? This milestone event was made even more special by our keynote speaker, Professor Patrick Sharkey, William S. Tod Professor of Sociology and Public Affairs at Princeton, who shared his insights on making research impactful in today’s world.? Our students have presented and engaged in the masterclasses with professors on how to leverage research experience in the real world, ensuring their work has a tangible, real-world impact. One of the biggest highlights was the Research Proposal Challenge, where students teamed up to brainstorm and craft a one-page proposal addressing a pressing topic. After hours of collaboration and expert guidance, the winning team was announced, walking away with a $100 technology grant to further their academic pursuits. We are incredibly proud of the hard work, dedication, and innovation shown by all of our students, and we can't wait to see what they achieve next!
