Radar operating in the 70GHz spectrum is well-known for enabling automotive emergency braking (#AEB) and blind spot detection. However, extending operation to higher frequency bands such as 120GHz and 240GHz enables significantly higher resolution sensing, unlocking automotive applications such as precision in-cabin monitoring, real-time road surface assessment to adapt driving dynamics, and a multitude of adjacent industrial sensing use cases requiring precision measurement and monitoring. Microwave Journal recently published a feature covering indie's TRA_240_091, the world’s first commercial fully integrated 240 GHz radar front-end (RFE) SoC transceiver offering high resolution, enhanced detection, and robust performance. #precisionradar #radar #automotiveinnovation #indieSemi #automotiveincabin Learn more at: https://lnkd.in/eUnWM5vn

The Partnership for Analytics Research in Traffic Safety (PARTS) is a collaboration between automakers and U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration NHTSA . The group aims to improve traffic safety through data-sharing and analysis. OEMs submitted data from 168 different models from 2015 – 2023 to determine the market penetration of Advanced Driver Assistance System (#ADAS) features. Key findings from this year’s report include: ?? Forward collision monitoring (FCM) and automatic emergency braking (#AEB) are the most widely adopted ADAS features, with 94% of 2023 model-year vehicles using these technologies. ?? Pedestrian detection warning (PDW) and pedestrian automatic emergency braking (#PAEB), which were found in fewer than 5% of 2015 model-year vehicles, are now integrated into over 90% of 2023 model-year vehicles. ?? Active driving assistance (ADA) and curve speed connection (CSC) technologies are an emerging trend in new vehicles, increasing from 0% market penetration in 2015 to 33.8% and 21.9% in 2023, respectively. indie's solutions are powering the future of #ADAS technology, enabling OEMs to integrate key safety features into their vehicles. From vision-based and ultrasonic to radar and LiDAR sensing, indie’s products are instrumental in achieving the future goal of the uncrashable car.
