The AI industry faces a significant gender gap—from research and funding to leadership roles. In a powerful "Women in AI" evening hosted by Indiaspora in collaboration with members Radha Basu (iMerit Technology)?and?Vani Kola (Kalaari Capital),?members and guests?gathered to explore solutions and spark change. The evening opened with remarks by Patrick McGovern,?Board Chair of The Patrick J. McGovern Foundation (PJMF) and Indiaspora Founder MR Rangaswami, setting the stage for a thought-provoking conversation. Panelists Bhakti Vithalani, Hema Budaraju, Kamakshi Sivaramakrishnan, and Monisha Banerjee —moderated by Ashu Garg —shared insights on opportunities across sectors and reflected on career-defining moments, mentorship, and the importance of inclusive innovation. The discussion sparked meaningful dialogue and actionable ideas to close the gender gap in AI—conversations we look forward to continuing.
