So today was the day we were to begin our IndiaRooted inaugural journey. We launched in December 2023 with the vision of fostering cultural pride among Indian-American youth. This initiative has been a journey of immense learning and growth for us. Initially, we had planned a travel excursion to India from June 10-23, 2024. Despite having strong interest and a few registrations, we made the difficult decision earlier this spring to defer the launch until 2025. The decision to defer has also provided us with the opportunity to reflect and recognize that while our vision remains strong, our approach may need to be re-evaluated. The experience over the past year has reinforced our commitment to the vision of IndiaRooted. We are now considering our next steps and how best to pivot our approach to continue fostering cultural pride among Indian-American youth and relaunch programming, as originally conceived or in a different form, at a later time. This concept is what brought to fruition IndiaRooted. IndiaRooted sees a world where today’s youth recognize where they come from and value how it shapes who they are. IndiaRooted is a nonprofit organization focused on fostering a personal connection for Indian-American teens to their ancestral homeland. The cohort will experience India from a multitude of angles from visiting iconic sites such as the Taj Mahal to understanding sustainability while on a tiger safari to hanging out with teens in India and meeting artists as well as seeing how business is done in India.
