This year the Indianapolis Cultural Trail Inc partnered with the amazing Scott Soltys-Curry of Indianapolis Coffee Guide to offer 10 Roast Rides, a FREE monthly guided bike ride along the Indianapolis Cultural Trail: A Legacy of Gene & Marilyn Glick to explore our incredible local coffee scene. At these popular rides, we introduced so many people to the Cultural Trail, Pacers Bikeshare, lots of great local businesses, and most importantly each other. Over just a few hours, these neighbors from different backgrounds bonded over bikes and coffee to build community. The coffee was certainly not instant, but the friendships were! So grateful to have collaborated with Scott Soltys-Curry and Courtney on this wonderful program, and looking forward to more Roast Rides in 2025! ????

With just over a month until it's officially winter, our team is still out on the Trail every day making improvements for you! ?? Last week, our horticulture team was grinding away—literally—removing old stumps to make room for new growth and a safer, more beautiful Cultural Trail. Although we hate to see our trail-side trees die, it's important to remove the leftover stumps to make way for future plantings as we work to increase the Trail's canopy in the future. ?? #horticulture #indianapolis #maintenance #nonprofit #linearpark #urbantrees #indianapolisculturaltrail

?? We’re thrilled to announce that the South Street expansion of the Indianapolis Cultural Trail: A Legacy of Gene and Marilyn Glick is officially open! This expansion connects the Wholesale and Fountain Square cultural districts and enhances access to near Southside neighborhoods and the Stadium Village community to downtown Indianapolis. The new expansion also creates a beautiful connection to key downtown landmarks including Indiana Convention Center & Lucas Oil Stadium, the Slippery Noodle Inn, and the future White River expansion of the Indianapolis Cultural Trail. In addition to improving connectivity, the South Street expansion has added more than 12,000 square feet of public gardens with new trees, shrubs, grasses, perennial plants and stormwater planters. The expansion also adds lighting, benches, bike racks and cultural interpretive panels to the corridor. ?? A special thanks to our supporters, including Lilly Endowment Inc., Elevance Health Foundation, Lilly Foundation, the Indianapolis Colts and the City of Indianapolis for helping us bring this vision to life. #indianapolis #downtownindy #culturaltrail #urbantrails #pedstriansafety #culturalheritage #colts #biking #connectivity #linearparks #ribboncutting #grandopening #bikeinfrastructure
