The IGIO is delighted to invite you to one of our upcoming in-person meetings, where we will discuss the latest advancements in our state’s imagery and elevation program. ? During these sessions, the IGIO will cover: (1) details of the imagery and elevation programs, (2) how to access datasets, and (3) the option of acquiring additional geospatial data sets such as contours, building outlines, impervious areas (roads, sidewalks, and driveways), and USGS 3DHP hydrology for your community. Streamlining the procurement process eliminated the need for internal RFPs, contract management, QA/QC, and public access storage, making it easier for all levels of government to access these valuable resources. ? Roadshow Details: - Columbia City, IN | March 18th, 11am to 1pm - Madison, IN | March 19th, 11am to 1pm - Richmond, IN | March 20th, 11am to 1pm Woolpert will generously provide lunch for all attendees. To ensure an accurate headcount for catering, we kindly request that you RSVP by March 17, 2025 using the Roadshow Registration form (https://lnkd.in/gYnyRjGh). Exciting news for Indiana! The Indiana Geographic Information Office (IGIO) is, in partnership with Woolpert, thrilled to announce the start of the first flight lines for collecting high-resolution imagery and LiDAR data. This marks the beginning of the four-year imagery collection program to enhance our state's geospatial data infrastructure. ? Our imagery will have an impressive base resolution of 3 inches, while the LiDAR data will be collected at USGS Quality Level 1 with a point density of 25 points per square meter. Check out the flight plan status map below to see the progress of our collection efforts. For those who love tracking flights in real time, you can view the live flight path on any given day using FlightAware.?To get a live status of the collection and to be a part of our "Get IN the Picture" initiatives (https://lnkd.in/gnac2Bjn), we encourage schools and the public to create something that can be captured from the air.? ? Stay tuned for updates, and visit our Imagery Program?(https://lnkd.in/gsSCPg_4) and Elevation Program (https://lnkd.in/g6CXupam)?pages for more details on the value of this information, how to access it, and, most importantly, how this data benefits our communities. Today, we celebrate Megan LaMade Compton as she steps down from her role as Indiana’s Geographic Information Officer. Megan’s vison and dedication elevated the Indiana Geographic Information Office (IGIO) to new heights and fostered collaborations across our geospatial community. While the IGIO will miss her guidance, we are excited for her as she takes on a new role as a Senior Policy Advisor with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) on the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC). As we wish Megan success in her next chapter, the IGIO remains steadfast in fulfilling its responsibilities as outlined in Indiana Code 4-23-7.4 (https://lnkd.in/gszty_mb). The IGIO will continue to provide the data, resources, and support that Indiana relies on to power programs and services statewide. If you require assistance from the IGIO, please email: [email protected]. #Farewell #IGIO #GIS #IndianaGIS #Leadership
