I’m kicking off my LinkedIn experience with my first post on a topic that’s close to my heart! Last week marked the first ever Indiana Women IN Tech Week. I had a fantastic time attending Ctrl+Alt+Empower: A Women in Tech Mentorship Event, sponsored by Transcend Consulting in partnership with Eight Eleven Group (Brooksource) and Pass the Torch for Women Foundation. It was so inspiring to connect with so many incredible women in tech and learn about the power of mentorship. I have been following Linda Calvin, JD (she/her/hers) for a while, and seeing the amazing work she does to support women in tech and their professional growth made it even more exciting to chat with her in person! Throughout the event, I engaged in meaningful discussions about how mentorship can help navigate our careers and open doors for opportunities. The insights shared by experienced leaders emphasized the importance of supporting one another and fostering connections in our industry. Whether you’re still in college or a recent graduate starting your career, having a mentor alongside your professional journey is essential for growth and guidance. Luckily, I’ve found some amazing women at my current workplace who have offered invaluable insights into my work and helped me adjust to the work environment during my first few months after graduation. I also had the chance to visit the Eight Eleven Group’s headquarters balcony for the raffle, where we enjoyed amazing views. The event also featured amazing merchandise, a huge delicious cake, and refreshing drinks, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere! This experience has sparked new ideas for how I can empower my colleagues at my workplace, where I’m fortunate to work alongside talented fellow Data Analysts and Business Analysts. I’m excited to continue building on the already amazing environment we have and support the professional growth of women in tech. Let’s continue to lift each other up and build a strong community! #WomenInTech #Mentorship #Empowerment #DataAnalysis #IndianaWomenInTechWeek
