Indiana University and the Indiana Biosciences Research Institute are advancing point-of-care precision medicine through a new joint center of excellence. The Joint Center of Excellence for Point of Care Precision Medicine will transform the healthcare system and improve patient outcomes. Since she was a little girl, Dr. Lauren Nephew knew she wanted to help people. That desire, coupled with a passion for talking to others and an inquisitive nature, led her to a career as a physician scientist. Now, Nephew is an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and assistant vice chair of health equity at the Indiana University School of Medicine. For 62 years, the Indiana University Honors Program in Foreign Languages has enabled over 8,700 Indiana high school students to spend a summer abroad. Since 1962, this intensive language program has taken Hoosiers to Spain, France, Austria, and more.
