On my way back to Chicago from a three day trip to Indiana. Visiting innovative German companies SCHOTT and Heidelberg Materials North America . Glass tops for stoves for all major kitchen appliance companies made in Vincennes and a modern cement plant exploring how to produce cement with zero CO2 emissions in Mitchell. Also visiting leading higher eduction institutions Indiana University Bloomington and Purdue University exploring existing and future ties to Germany. Indiana and Germany are strong partners!

Switzerland-based REGO-FIX USA has opened a 12,000-square-foot addition to its existing facility in Town of Whitestown, Indiana that company officials say will partly serve as an incubator for other foreign companies that want to do business in Indiana. “When we designed the center for this technology-sharing partnership, we thought, well, why don’t we also include in there an opportunity to have partners from Europe come in and call that their hub,” said Bill Obras, Rego-Fix General Manager of Americas. “We can incubate, get them started and as they grow, they will then go get their own locations, and ideally, we want to do that in Indiana.” https://lnkd.in/guu4vkQi

The International Center (Indianapolis) and Indiana-Germany Business Council were delighted to support the Indianapolis Colts with their business delegation to Germany earlier this month. The 12-day, five-city trip included meetings with sporting clubs, local governments, and business organizations to learn more about the opportunities to grow American Football throughout Germany.

Alongside the Indiana-Germany Business Council, the IU Europe Gateway hosted an afternoon reception with the Indianapolis Colts in Berlin, Germany. It was a pleasure to show our neighbors at the Colts around our IU Europe Gateway. Not going to lie: there are days when it's hard to believe that this is our actual job. And last Friday was one of those days. Together with the Indiana-Germany Business Council, we hosted an afternoon reception with the Indianapolis Colts at the IU Europe Gateway, and unsurprisingly, the Colts' mascot Blue stole the show – and everyone's hearts. This week, we were delighted to welcome Deputy Ambassador of Germany Mr. Axel Dittmann to Indiana. Facilitated and supported by the Bertelsmann Foundation, the delegation met with elected officials including Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb, City of Carmel Mayor Sue Finkam, City of Westfield, Indiana Mayor Scott Willis, and City of Noblesville Deputy Mayor Matt Light. The group also toured INDEX Corporation before joining IGBC Members for a Business Roundtable in downtown Indianapolis.
