This week, Dr. Joan Nagel and Dr. Michael Kurilla from National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) visited Indianapolis to learn about our programs, services, and statewide impact. We were grateful for the opportunity to showcase our work and engage in thoughtful and inspiring discussions with our guests. During their visit, Dr. Nagel and Dr. Kurilla listened to presentations from Indiana CTSI leaders, toured the Children's Clinical Research Center at Riley, and enjoyed lunch with Indiana CTSI scholars. Their visit was an excellent?complement to a visit earlier this month from Joni L Rutter, NCATS director. Thanks to our fabulous team of presenters, staff members and scholars who made this #CTSAprogram visit possible!

Researchers at the University of Notre Dame, in collaboration with the Tecnológico de Monterrey, have received a grant from the Indiana CTSI to advance breast cancer diagnostics in underserved communities. Led by Associate Professor Thomas O'Sullivan, the project focuses on optimizing a handheld device, NearWave, which aims to improve the accuracy of breast cancer diagnoses. This innovative approach addresses the urgent need for effective diagnostic tools, particularly in areas with limited healthcare resources. #BreastCancerResearch #GlobalHealth #NotreDame

?? Reflecting on an incredible opportunity I had while working with WISE Indiana at Indiana CTSI. As part of the Purdue team, I was entrusted with project planning, data structuring, and conducting in-depth data analyses for an independent assessment of the 1915(b)(4) waiver in Indiana for the 1915(i) programs. I also had the rewarding experience of crafting comprehensive reports and presenting key findings to stakeholders. It was an honor to be featured in the WISE Indiana 2024 Annual Report, showcasing the meaningful impact of our work on improving mental health services across the state. https://lnkd.in/gRp9RCNB I’m truly grateful for this experience and the valuable insights it gave me into public health, mental health services, and evidence-based program assessment. Excited to continue making a difference in this field!
