ICASE recognized Dr. Angela Balsley, Ed. D at our fall conference last week with the Cheryl Harshman Distinguished Service Award. This award recognizes individuals who have been career-long leaders in the administration of special education programs. ICASE President?Joe Kwisz?presented the award to Dr. Balsley, acknowledging her leadership with the ICASE strategic plan, resulting in the positive growth of the organization. We're grateful for Angie's leadership and dedication.

ICASE recognized Olivia Shaffer & Rebecca Sears at our conference last week. Olivia & Rebecca were the recipients of the Special Education Legislative Summit Scholarship this summer. They were exceptional representatives of the needs of Hoosier students, teachers, and families in Washington, DC. We appreciate their leadership with policy and advocacy!

ICASE leaders had a successful day on Capitol Hill discussing our three national priorities for children disabilities at the Special Education Legislative Summit: 1) the educator shortage, 2) mental health, and 3) adequate funding.
