Indiana's Energy Assistance Program (#EAP) opens today! You can apply online by visiting EAP.ihcda.in.gov. EAP provides a one-time annual benefit that can assist you with the cost of home heating and energy, and can help if you are disconnected or are about to get disconnected?. An EAP benefit will not cover all your annual heating and electric costs, so you should continue to pay your bills regularly. These benefits are paid directly to the utility vendor to help cover your heating and electric costs. If your utilities are included in rent, you may still qualify for EAP.

Community Housing Development Organizations (#CHDOs) are private, community-based nonprofit organizations whose primary purpose is to develop affordable housing for the community it serves, utilizing construction financing through the HOME Investment Partnerships Program. IHCDA provides several benefits to organizations who certify as CHDOs, including operational support, access to the CHDO Pre-Development Fund, and the use of CHDO proceeds to continue affordable housing efforts. Since 2018, IHCDA has certified 17 CHDOs, and awarded more than $55 million to support 54 CHDO HOME projects, including 44 rental projects and 10 homebuyer projects. These projects have led to the construction or preservation of over 500 units statewide of affordable housing across 23 Indiana Counties. IHCDA has also been able to support over 50 CHDO Operating Awards and over 10 CHDO Pre-Development Loans. For more information on the CHDO program, please visit: https://lnkd.in/gvV8Rb5m
