On February 6, 2025, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and India's Defense Minister Rajnath Singh held a pivotal conversation, reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthening the U.S.-India defense partnership. This discussion highlighted the expansion of cooperation in various sectors, including technology, defense supply chains, joint military exercises, and enhanced interoperability. The leaders also underscored the importance of collaborating on defense innovation, involving government bodies, startups, businesses, and academic institutions. Looking ahead, both nations have agreed to draft a comprehensive defense cooperation framework for 2025–2035. Presented by Hon’ble Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the budget lays the foundation for India’s ambition to become a $5 trillion economy through fiscal consolidation, strategic investments, and simplified tax reforms.?IAICC joins?the United States-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) and the United States-India Business Council (USIBC)?in recognizing?the budget’s emphasis on innovation, inclusivity, and economic modernization.
