The recent Holiday period gave me just enough free time to engage in [aka be dragged along for] my wife’s favorite pastime… antiquing. While I’m not quite as enthusiastic about teacups, seascapes, and miscellaneous other vintage décor as she is, I often manage to find some old aviation related goodies. A couple of weeks ago, surprisingly at an antique store in Aberdeen WA (known more for its logging and fishing, and being where Kurt Cobain grew up, than aviation) I scored a stack of “Flying Review International” magazines from the 1960s. Thumbing through them has been a treat for an #AvGeek like me. Given my, and Aviation Partners', connection to the Dassault Aviation / Dassault Falcon Jet family, this wonderful ad for the Falcon 20 from the “Mad Men” advertising era was too good not to share (for those interested, it was in the “French Aviation” issue from April 1965). Deliveries of Dassault Falcon business jets climbed to 31 in 2024 versus 26 in 2023, although they were lower than the 35 that Dassault had given as guidance for the year during the release of first-half results in August. Dassault doesn’t provide a breakdown of which models were delivered, but the total includes the Falcon 6X, the newest jet in the French company’s stable. Read more: https://hubs.la/Q031NJBG0
France begins Falcon government jet fleet rollover… “This is the first of two Falcon 900EX EASy to replace the Falcon 2000LX jets, which average 13 years of age. F-RAFS directly replaces Falcon 2000LX F-RAFD (msn 237), which was retired in September 2024 and is now parked at Paris Le Bourget.
