As the sun set on my first day at #ILMAMeets, I reflected back on my first ILMA (Independent Lubricant Manufacturers Association) annual meeting, here in Colorado Springs a lifetime ago in 2019. I was a baby in the industry then and thought I had so much to learn. I did, of course, but little did any of us know a wild card was coming that would level the playing field for veterans and newcomers alike. Suddenly, history was important context but not incredibly relevant to our day-to-day. The #lubricant industry has navigated through a global pandemic and resulting economic collapse, a supply chain crisis and a war with major implications on vital resources—all of it unprecedented. I always say crisis is the best teacher, and I stand by that. One major lesson of the pandemic was the critical importance of nurturing your connections in order to continue learning and growing, and ILMA is the very best place to do that. I’m grateful for opportunities like this to continue to connect with the industry as we learn together what could lie ahead. #baseoils #lubricants

The committee also delved into simplified tools for ILMA members can use to calculate emissions and quantify their sustainability initiatives.
