A little reminder to all our family & friends; Lonn’s Celebration of life will be this Friday, May 24th at Hyperion Country Club from 3 pm to 6 pm. We hope you’re able to join, and please feel free to share. Although it will be an open house, at 4:00 we will have a short program to reflect on dad’s life?? There will be snacks, pizza & desserts.. and, A LOT of D.C.. (Diet Coke??) We look forward to celebrating & honoring our beloved Lonn/Dad with all who can visit. Thank you????????

On Tuesday, our industry lost a legend. Lonn was an incredible fire investigator, mentor to all & all around amazing man. He will be so missed. Our love runs deep for him & he will always be remembered. There will be a celebration of life planned for sometime in June. We will share details once we have a date. I hope you will take a couple minutes to read about his life. He was an incredible human being. Rest easy, LRA. IFIC is in great hands and we will continue to make you proud. IFIC had the opportunity to be a part of the Kansas City Arson Task Force conference this year. What a great conference & a FANTASTIC group! As most of you know, IFIC is not your typical fire investigation agency.?We are a hybrid firm combining fire investigation, forensic engineering, education and training and even digital forensics. (Although, fires are our favorite!??) Our agency has over 200 years of combined experience in investigating fires here in the Midwest.?At this time, we conduct fire investigations in Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, Minnesota, Missouri, Kansas and the Dakotas. Additionally, our investigators and engineers have offered expert testimony in both state and federal courts. We pride ourselves in our work and the assistance, resources, and professionalism we provide our clients. Next, I thought I would take a minute to introduce two of our Illinois fire investigators, Mark Langellier and Darrin Clayton!? Mark has been in the fire service since 1998 where he started as a volunteer firefighter before being employed by the City of Bloomington Fire Department in 2003.?He currently holds the rank of Captain with the department and is the Supervisor of their investigation team.?He obtained his Fire Investigation Certificate through the Illinois State Fire Marshal Office in 2008 and holds his CFI Certificate from the International Association of Arson Investigators.?He began his career in the private sector in 2011 and since then, has investigated nearly 800 fires for both the public and private sectors.?Mark also has an Applied Associates Degree in Fire Science Technology. ? Darrin has been on the Galesburg Fire Department Since 2010, where he currently serves as the rank of Captain. Darrin also volunteers on his local volunteer fire department. He is the supervisor for the Galesburg Fire investigation team. He earned his associate degree from Illinois Central College in 2006 in Fire Science along with his bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University in Business Administration in 2008. Darrin began his investigation career in 2014 with the Galesburg Fire Department. Darrin trained at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, MD earning his “Certified Fire Investigator” through the International Association of Arson Investigators in 2020 along with his “Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through (NAFI) in 2021. He has been working in the private sector since 2021.?Darrin is also a licensed private investigator in the state of Iowa. New year, New office???? ..Same dogs?? IFIC is so excited to share with you that we moved! Not far, but here’s a sneak peek of our new space in Urbandale. Perfect for our ‘new’ Iowa operation????
