Exciting project highlight! ?? #TeamIX recently completed a 90-day project at Atlanta Regional Airport - Falcon Field (FFC), constructing a new terminal parking apron. Our work began with extensive subgrade preparation, followed by the import and compaction of crushed aggregate base course. We enhanced the infrastructure by replacing the existing sanitary sewer manhole with one that is rated for aircraft traffic. Once the subgrade was fully prepared, our team paved nearly 12,000 square yards of GDOT pavement and sealed extensive joints. To further improve site drainage, we added permeable soil and installed reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) to channel water to a nearby pond. With the dedication of our crew, the support of our partners at Michael Baker International, and the FFC ownership team, we completed the project ahead of schedule - preparing the apron just in time for the annual October air show! #IndependenceExcavating #ProjectHighlight #AirfieldPaving #AtlantaRegionalAirport
