#TeamIX recently achieved exciting milestones at the GE Healthcare Forge Expansion project in Warrensville Heights, Ohio. This project showcases our precision and expertise in concrete work. From site utilities to a complex forge pit system, it truly has it all! ?? In early September, we began the Forge Pit concrete work by pouring the 4.5-ft-deep Forge Mat. Since the next pour would cover the majority of the Mat, only the center would need finishing. Just weeks later, we poured the 7.5-ft-deep Forge Pedestal. Numerous hours went into the rebar and forming required for this pour. Between the two pours roughly 600 CY of concrete was placed. We used a concrete funnel in this pour to help place materials underneath the sole plate boxouts and utilized a power trowel to help achieve a flawless surface finish. Every detail, from rebar placement and embeds, to the final surface finish, was carefully managed to ensure top-tier quality. ?? C. T. ?? A huge congratulations to the #TeamIX estimating team for their outstanding efforts in securing the low bid on a nearly $100 million contract! This major milestone involves the construction of the Uptown to Oakland (BRT-001) segments of the Downtown-Uptown-Oakland Bus Rapid Transit project. ?? The work includes a wide range of tasks, including roadway and sidewalk reconstruction, traffic signal installation, utility coordination, drainage management, BRT station construction, and much more. Our team is excited for next steps on this next phase of the Bus Rapid Transit project in downtown Pittsburgh, enhancing mobility and connectivity for the community! ??? This year marked the 39th annual Cleveland Constructor for a Day (CFAD) program, a cherished tradition initiated by Rich and his son Nick DiGeronimo to connect civil and construction students with contractors and real-world industry experiences. Today also holds special significance as we celebrate Rich’s heavenly birthday. ?? Students had the chance to visit two active Independence Excavating sites in Northeast Ohio, where they gained firsthand insight into the projects and IX’s role in them. They also observed how various subcontractors contributed to the work and the different responsibilities they managed on-site. During the visit, students witnessed live pipe installation, watching the crews and operators in action. We were proud to have 55 students participate, with 6 representing #TeamIX! #TeamIX Mid-Atlantic had an amazing time at the cornhole tournament hosted by our partners at HITT Contracting Inc.! With 18 teams in the mix, the energy was high and the competition was intense. ???? The #TeamIX Mid-Atlantic crew came together to support the Backpack Buddies program at Dulles South Food Pantry, Inc. ! Partnering with Loudoun County Public Schools, this initiative ensures that low-income students have nutritious meals to take home for the weekend. ?? With everyone’s incredible support, we successfully packed over 200 bags, doubling our efforts from earlier this year!
