Meet Charles (Charlie) Hostetter, #IDEM's Environmental Chemist 2. Charlie is from Greenwood and graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering. He worked in Indiana Department of Health's Chemistry Laboratory analyzing mostly IDEM collected samples prior to joining our team! In Charlie's role as Quality Assurance Officer with the Watershed Assessment & Planning Branch, he helps maintain our Assessment Information Management System (AIMS) database which is home to all of our surface water quality data. He provides technical support for Office of Water Quality's External Data Framework and works in the Algae Lab to determine cyanotoxin concentrations of water samples. In his free time, Charlie enjoys tabletop & PC gaming, running and calisthenics, and listening to music. #MeetTheTeamMonday

#IDEM Office of Water Quality employees Cameron Yeakle, McKenzie Bruder, Kayla Werbianskyj, and Kevin Gaston attended the Wildcat Experience 2024 at Camp Tycony in Kokomo, IN last week. ?? This event allowed biology students from different schools to learn about water and gain hands on experience with certain skills, such as electrofishing, identifying macroinvertebrates, chemical testing for water quality, and water usage. ?? #WaterQuality #Kokomo #EnvironmentalEducation

#IDEM was proud to join Indianapolis leaders for a groundbreaking on the Near Northside this week. ?? The #Brownfields site has been abandoned for years after commercial development left the area.
