We’re still buzzing from the excitement of last week! ?? ? The Incognia team met up in London ?? Held a workshop for delivery and ride-sharing platforms ?? Sponsored and participated in the Marketplace Risk Global Summit. The workshop was part of PIN - Platform Integrity Network, the community we started this year for fraud & risk professionals at delivery and ride-sharing platforms. We had some amazing participants representing 11 different companies (see the group photo below) and it was a great workshop. PIN continues to grow and is developing into a special community. Last week, members of the Incognia team participated in the Brazil Programming Marathon Finals for the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC). ?Our teammates were spread between a number of different teams in the competition. Highlights: ?? 5 Incognia employees were in the top 20 teams in Brazil ?? 1 Incogniar’s team finished 1st in Brazil and also finished 1st in LATAM ???3 Incogniars' teams received medals securing spots in the LATAM finals. ???? 4 more Incognia teammates participated in the marathon with non-competing teams ?? One of our teammates also gave a talk at the event and others answered questions about our daily work at Incognia Congratulations to everyone! We’re proud of you.

Big day! Incognia is partnering with Grubhub ?? We’re thrilled to be working with Grubhub, a leading US food delivery marketplace. They’ll be leveraging Incognia’s fraud prevention technology to increase security and create a seamless experience for their customers and delivery partners. I had a fantastic time at Money20/20 this week, discussing how the US financial services industry can learn from Brazil's innovations. ? As you may know, Brazil is a global leader in fintech innovation. It boasts one of the world's most advanced instant payment systems, PIX, and is home to the largest neobank, Nubank. ? It was a pleasure to speak on this panel alongside?Luciano Matarazzo Regno?from?Banco do Brasil.?We explored how open finance and PIX have accelerated financial inclusion, allowing the fintech ecosystem to thrive. ? One key point I made was that while these innovations initially led to a surge in fraud, banks adapted quickly. In fact, I believe they are at least four years ahead of their US counterparts in terms of fraud prevention technology. ? To illustrate this, I mentioned that only 1% of the top 50 Brazilian financial institutions currently rely on legacy authentication methods, such as SMS-based one-time passwords (OTPs). In contrast, 75% of the top 50 financial institutions in the US still use this insecure verification method.

Marketplaces: Are fraudsters multi-accounting on your platform? Leveraging multiple accounts enables fraudsters to scale fraud schemes like promotion abuse and refund abuse. Banning their account won’t stop them, because they’ll just jump on another one. Some fraudsters even use advanced tools like app cloners and emulators that allow them to create and use dozens of accounts at the same time.
