Disability Justice is a core aspect of Disability Pride. Mental health providers have a crucial responsibility in dismantling ableism and sanism within this field. And yet, Disability Justice is intentionally and glaringly omitted from our schooling and training. We must interrogate why this is the case, and commit to learning from/alongside people with lived experience of Disability, Neurodivergence, and mental illness, especially with those embodying intersecting marginalized identities. See blog post with links to all resources here: https://lnkd.in/ex5Nrbmt Visit our website’s Resource page for this and more! Extending deep gratitude to Jazz Bell, Alice Wong, Sins Invalid, Project LETS, Autistic People of Color Fund, Fireweed Collective, Spoonie Uni Project, and Making-Visible for your incredible work. PS: MASK UP in solidarity ?? thank you?to BIPOC mental health activist Blezzing Dada?for your loving reminders! We center the needs of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. We honor the full neurodiversity spectrum and advocate for mental health care accessibility for disabled people/with disabilities. We are a mental health justice movement pursuing equity and liberation through education, collective care, and activism.
