Enabling Agility for Everyone

关于我们

We help organizations of all sizes and industries implement business agility while honoring the diverse people that make up your teams. Agile and DEI are a single circle Venn diagram. You can’t have one without the other. As Inclusive Agile coaches, we believe that companies find success by empowering their employees to safely be their authentic selves at work. Creativity is required for innovative, iterative, knowledge work. Vulnerability is required for creativity. You can't have either without establishing psychologically safe teams. The more psychological safety cultivated, the better your teams will be able to deliver real business value. Make the most of your leadership and teams by understanding how diverse experiences and perspectives contribute to problem-solving, ideation, and execution. * Currently in the process of becoming a non-profit organization (501(c)(3)).

October is both ADHD Awareness and National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) it can be overwhelming but ADHD doesn't have to be "scary"... ADHD in the office doesn’t have to be SCARY!?? Here are a couple of ideas to help work with your ADHD Brain in the office: Body Doubling - The idea behind Body Doubling with ADHD is to have someone else in the same room - or on the same ZOOM -?to provide support. Like a zombie they aren’t saying much but their presence urges you onward helping you to stay focused and on task. The mere fact that you are being observed can motivate you to keep moving forward. As long as you stay one step ahead of the zombie body double, you'll be able to stay on track! Rubber Ducks - Did you know that a rubber duck can help with ADHD? The duck, or any object of your choosing sits quietly listening to your problem. Rather than providing ideas or feedback, a rubber duck provides a focus for your thoughts. By expressing your ideas out loud, you can stimulate various parts of your brain, helping you get unstuck and keeping you on track. The?official theme for NDEAM this year is : “Access to Good Jobs for All.” We're accepting applications to our Return To Work Program for Neurodivergent job seekers. If you're interested in learning more, please follow the link in the comment below or drop anyone at Inclusive Agile a line! #InclusiveAgile?#ADHDAwarenessMonth #ADHD #ScaryADHD #Halloween #NationalDisabilityEmploymentAwarenessMonth Image description 1 :? Image description 2 : A rubber duck with cold dead eyes and mouth wide in a quacking scream is chilling in front of a full moon while bats flutter and a spooky graveyard looms in the backdrop.

October is both ADHD Awareness and National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) - Did you know that people with ADHD have extra - over the top - reactions to rejection? This isn’t your garden variety discomfort with feedback. ADHD brains are wired to process this differently. It's called RSD and yeah, it can be "scary" to deal with. At Inclusive Agile, we understand that psychologically safe feedback is essential—especially for neurodivergent team members, such as those with ADHD. For many, ADHD comes with Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD), where even constructive feedback can feel overwhelming or like personal rejection. This can create stress, anxiety, and a fear of failure that impacts productivity and well-being. Here are three ways to foster psychologically safe feedback for individuals with ADHD: Acknowledge the Elephant in the Room The first step often is just having a shared understanding of what RSD is and how it affects people. If you can name it in yourself and be sensitive to the reactions of others you can NAME it as RSD and remove the stigma. Be Specific and Behavior-Focused Instead of vague critiques, focus on specific behaviors. For example: “I noticed the project slipped past the deadline—what do you think caused that?” vs. “You’re always missing deadlines.” Clear, actionable feedback reduces emotional overwhelm. Offer Feedback Frequently and Predictably Establish regular check-ins so feedback is expected and not anxiety-inducing. Frequent conversations also help build trust and ensure issues don’t pile up, making them easier to address calmly and collaboratively. When feedback is given with clarity, empathy, and trust, we foster workplaces where everyone—especially those with ADHD—feels safe, seen, and empowered to grow. The official theme for NDEAM this year is : “Access to Good Jobs for All.” We're accepting applications to our Return To Work Program for Neurodivergent job seekers. • In this vibrant scene, two playful, fox-like characters are locked in an exciting race! The golden-furred fox on the left is in a blue top and purple pants, its fluffy tail bouncing behind as it charges forward. On the right, the blue-furred fox, sporting an orange shirt and green pants, is hot on their tail—literally! They’re neck and neck, sprinting toward the purple finish line ribbon stretched between two poles.

The sky is dotted with simple, whimsical clouds, giving the whole race an energetic, carefree vibe. You can almost feel the wind rushing past as these two foxy friends race, their tails and clothes flapping in the breeze. It’s a fun, lighthearted competition that leaves you wondering who will cross the line first! Will it be the golden fox with a determined sprint, or the blue fox making a last-minute dash? The excitement is palpable, and the finish line is just a whisker away!

This post contributed by Corissa Peck, MBA , founder and CEO here at Inclusive Agile: I'm disabled and remote work has made my career possible. Do you know how hard it is to type that sentence??^^^ I'm sure many of you do. I'm presenting a workshop at the Disabiltiy:IN Utah conference next week and I am feeling a little hypocritical about not wanting to talk about my own disabilities. I'm still wrapping my head around my late diagnosis with ADHD, it's one I talk about more, but the more impactful disability in my life is migraines. The attached picture is The Curb Cut Effect - it's the idea that when you make something more accessible for a person with disability it improves life for everyone. Remote work is one of these things.?Remote work is an essential accommodation for persons with disabilities - AND - it improves the lives of the rest of the team. Because I was a software engineer for most of my career, I've had access to work remotely since 1998. Yes, 1998. I worked for MCI - just outside of Washington, DC and part of my job was doing code deployments to production.?I'll never forget the first time I was given a laptop so that I could deploy from home, at night. It was amazing. Ok, objectively slow and awful, this is 1998, after all, but amazing. Having migraines means that some days I need to be in a dark room.?Some days I need to sleep and work odd hours.?Some days I'm catching up because my meds failed and my productivity was destroyed.?I've also driven in to the office, or stayed there, waaaay too many times when I was too sick to do so because of the pressure to be "in office." And, honestly??I'm one of the lucky ones. When I see companies cutting back on remote workers and demanding a certain amount of days in the office it breaks my heart for everyone on their teams that will be affected. Here's the kicker, I would never have said I was 'disabled' in the past.?It's an ableist lie I told myself - AND I still benefitted from the accommodation I so desperately needed to succeed. Removing remote work returns the stigma for your disabled team members. Please, for the love of Grace Hopper, stop doing this to your teams. I'd love to hear your thoughts on how remote work and other "curb cuts" have benefitted you - let me know in the comments! #CurbCutEffect #InclusiveAgile #DisabilityInclusion Image Description: The image shows a scene with a group of anthropomorphic foxes engaging in various activities. A fox in a wheelchair is using a curb cut (a small ramp where the sidewalk meets the street), making it easier to navigate. Nearby, a fox pushing a baby stroller also benefits from the same curb cut. Other foxes, pushing a baby stroller, riding a bicycle, using a scooter, an older fox with a cane, and a fox pushing a cart of boxes up all illustrate how inclusive design elements, originally meant to assist individuals with disabilities, also benefit a variety of users.

4 day week! It's Friday! Guess what that means? The cool kids over at Inclusive Agile are off today. Or, to be precise, we've adopted a 4-day work week to make sure we can allow the team to get ample rest and give flexibility for each of us to work when and where works best. So, while we’re busy recharging their batteries, we may not be around for meetings or chats. But - this makes us more productive overall and has been fantastic for our mental health. See you on Monday! Have you experimented with a 4 day week? Let us know in the comments if it worked for you! hashtag #InclusiveAgile hashtag #4DayWorkWeek hashtag #4thWaveOfAgile hashtag #AllTheCoolKidsDoA4DayWeek Image Description: A blue, anthropomorphic fox stands in front of a weekly calendar page that only has 4 squares. Ah, Mel Robbins - you had me at "NOTEBOOKS." I just listened to episode 209 of the Mel Robbins Podcast. It was exactly the thing I needed to hear today.?It reminded me that almost every time I've changed jobs, started looking for a new place to live, or even bought a new car, it's been in the fall. She talks about how September is the perfect time for making big changes, to committing to new goals, and getting productive.I couldn't agree more. * September is when everything changes.?The leaves, the weather, our routines, the TV schedule... :)??All of these cues can help your brain be prepped and ready to start something new. * We are hard wired for 'Back to School' mode.?We grew up every year with it and it still surrounds us.?Crayons and notebooks on sale at the grocery store, new traffic patterns as the school bus once again blocks my route, etc. * If you start a goal in September for 2024 you only have a few months to accomplish it before the end of year.?Take adavantage of Parkinson's law which says that work expands to fill the time available.?Give yourself a deadline! What about you??Did you get yourself a new notebook (or 5)??Does fall inspire you to start new things? We'd love to hear your ideas! #theMelRobbinsPodcast #InclusiveAgile #BackToSchool

    • Image shows a fox, a latte and a stack of notebooks. All of IA's favorite things! And has a Quote from Mel Robbins that says "Fall is go time. Fall is about you. So grab your pumpkin spice latte and your sweater and your new notebooks and let's get busy!
