We are a professional firm designed to bring a multifaceted approach to culture change and leadership development. By now, most organizations and individuals have heard the catchphrase that diversity is beneficial, our goal is to move beyond benefits of diversity and inclusion explaining how to foster inclusion and establish equitable policies, structure, and programs that will drive business outcomes. We see through the “noise,” identify the real issues that need to be solved, communicate management concepts and leadership best practices to help our clients partners capitalize on emerging opportunities, develop practical and actionable solutions to execute the strategy and drive value. Our goal is to create a culture where everyone thrives as well as increase individual and team performance by maximizing and cultivating what your employees do best. As a foundation, we believe that by communicating why diversity of thoughts / ideas / opinions, customers, marketplace and talent are driving the necessity for inclusion and equity, recognizing these as levers of business success, employee engagement, retention, and revenue growth in the 21st-century workplace. Our Inclusive + Equitable? Leadership program is a tool for conducting awareness and supports team cohesion at organizations around the world. Individuals and teams understand, apply, and assimilate their strengths into their respective roles. This is long, but I hope you read it. Did you know that Dallas, Texas now has the infrastructure to be the most equitable city in the South? Dallas is the only city in Texas with a racial equity office in the public school system, an Equity Office and Human Rights Office at the City of Dallas, and an Equity Office at Dallas County. Dallas County has declared racism is a public health crisis. The City of Dallas is a certified Welcoming City, has a racial equity plan with $40 million attached to it, a resilience plan, a new equitable Forward Dallas Plan, a recent racial equity audit of its housing policy, an Office of Community Police Oversight, and is working to become a certified human rights city. All of these things and more have happened since the existence of and with the support of Dallas Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation. Over the last 7 years, Dallas TRHT became the largest racial equity, racial healing and racial justice organization in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex/North Texas, the fastest growing region and 4th largest metropolitan area in the United States. Since 2019, Dallas TRHT’s Racial Equity NOW Cohort has served seventy-two (72) Dallas-Fort Worth area nonprofits and community-based organizations, and have provided over $720,000.00 in funding to support racial equity programs/projects from community-based organizations who have completed the Racial Equity NOW Cohort. Since 2022, Dallas TRHT’s Community Innovation Lab participants have received in-kind donations in free and reduced cost office space, and over $300,000 in implementation grants. Since 2017, Dallas TRHT and its community partners have implemented over 100 community events addressing race, racism, racial equity, racial healing and racial justice, and community partners have received community event sponsorships totalling over $100,000. Dallas TRHT also hired over a dozen racial equity coaches and racial healing practitioners, featured and compensated over two dozen local artists in our programming, and partnered with D Magazine and KERA to create new media. Over seven years, Dallas TRHT invested more than TWO MILLION DOLLARS in DFW organizations specifically for new racial equity, racial healing and racial justice efforts. It should be celebrated. I have been blessed to lead this work, and unfortunately but with gratefulness, my time at Dallas TRHT has come to an end. I want to thank all of the community members, organizations and funders who partnered with Dallas TRHT (especially my elders and mentors Marilyn Clark, Donald Payton, Diane Ragsdale, John Fullinwider, Peggy Larney and Vicki Meek), all of the dedicated staff members who joined this journey (especially Errika Flood Moultrie, Stephanie Drenka, and Imani Daniel), and my national TRHT family (especially Dr. Gail Christopher). I am open to whatever is next and looking forward to my future opportunity to impact our community and materially change outcomes. In appreciation, Jerry L. Hawkins
