Dear LinkedIn community, I'm thrilled to announce the launch of the Inclusive Abundance Initiative (inclusiveabundance.org) — a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization I founded last year that is dedicated to shaping America’s future through an abundance-focused agenda. We’re building a dynamic network of policy experts, think tanks, and advocacy groups to foster a more vibrant economy with widespread flourishing. We believe in the power of harnessing ideas across the ideological spectrum to inform policies that not only drive progress but also unify and strengthen our nation. Many of you know me from my former work in finance, starting at J.P. Morgan in 1996, and then at Citadel, where between 2008 and 2015 I built the Global Fixed Income Business, which continues to thrive today. While twenty years of managing incredibly talented teams at JPM and Citadel was challenging and intense, I ultimately sought a deeper sense of purpose, which led me, 9 years ago, to become a policy entrepreneur. With a desire to create opportunities for people across America, I focused on a variety of advocacy projects, including expanding the Child Tax Credit (which ultimately became law in the American Rescue Plan, cutting child poverty in half) and developing the Regional Tech Hubs in the CHIPS and Science Act. These experiences convinced me that by coordinating diverse actors around a common goal, we can achieve otherwise impossible results. It was a desire to scale and institutionalize this grass-tops organizing effort that led to the formation of the Inclusive Abundance Initiative. Public policy has been stuck in a scarcity mindset that says if someone wins, someone else must lose. That we should give in to the depressing polarization dominating our news cycles and accept a status quo where we cease to dream big. The result? Too many Americans are left behind. We can do better.
