IMTA Advocates for IMT Professionals at the Highest Levels
IMTA is dedicated to securing a seat at the table, ensuring that decision-makers recognize the vital role Incident Management Team (IMT) professionals play in responding to natural and human-made disasters nationwide.
In a letter to Mr. Cameron Hamilton, Acting Administrator of FEMA, IMTA President Randal Collins underscores this commitment. Here’s an excerpt from his message:
?? While we understand that you have not been formally appointed to the federal assessment council evaluating disaster response and relief operations, we recognize that your knowledge and experience will undoubtedly be a critical resource to the council’s work. We are confident that your established relationships with Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem afford you a degree of influence in this process. We respectfully request that you recommend IMTA for representation on the assessment council.
IMTA represents more than 1,000 disaster responders from emergency management, law enforcement, the fire service, public health, public works, and other key disciplines across federal, state, and local levels. We are the only nonprofit organization solely dedicated to advancing and supporting the use of Incident Management Teams (IMTs) worldwide.
As you know, IMTs are a cornerstone of effective disaster management. These teams ensure that resources are deployed efficiently, command structures are clear and decisive, and multi-agency responses are coordinated seamlessly. Jurisdictions that utilize IMTs consistently recover faster and manage crises more effectively than those that do not. ??
Join us in advocating for stronger representation, clearer policies, and the continued success of IMTs across the country. Your voice matters—let’s make sure it’s heard.
