Inasmuch Foundation was honored to attend the Inaugural Oklahoma Hispanic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony celebrating the incredible achievements and lasting impact of Hispanic leaders in our state! University of Oklahoma Football and Dallas Cowboys legend Tony Casillas served as keynote speaker and an inaugural inductee. Also among the honorees was Anita Martinez, a passionate advocate for the Hispanic community and former director of La Puerta de Oro, a Spanish-speaking senior citizens center in Oklahoma. Her legacy was celebrated posthumously with her family in attendance. Another special moment came when District Judge and Criminal Justice Reform Advocate Heather Coyle surprised her father, Fred Mendoza, with his induction. As Chairman and Founder of the Oklahoma Hispanic Institute, Fred was the driving force behind this event! Congratulations to all the honorees, and thank you to the Oklahoma Hispanic Institute for organizing the awards!

Mental health remains a critical priority for Oklahoma City, as identified by community stakeholders in Inasmuch Foundation’s 2019 and 2022 listening sessions. Thanks to a United Way of Central Oklahoma WayFinder Innovation grant, Healthy Minds Policy Initiative is completing an in-depth assessment of the mental health landscape and opportunities for improvement. Inasmuch Foundation is committed to supporting solutions that drive meaningful progress in mental health and substance abuse care and looks forward to collaborating on this issue!

Inasmuch Foundation is proud to support Fall 2024 grantee Diversion Hub, a crucial resource for individuals seeking a second chance. Their innovative approach focuses on diversion, education, and rehabilitation, offering an alternative to incarceration. By partnering with direct service providers, Diversion Hub meets clients where they are, breaking down barriers and helping them transition out of the court system with the tools for long-term stability and empowerment. Diversion Hub is currently under construction on a new, permanent facility as part of MAPS 4's commitment to improving Oklahoma City. During Women’s History Month, the legacy of Inasmuch founder Edith Kinney Gaylord serves as a powerful reminder of the impact women have made throughout history. As one of the first female journalists on the Associated Press's news desk in Washington DC and president of the National Women’s Press Club, Edith broke barriers and championed equality for women in journalism and beyond. Her trailblazing spirit continues to inspire initiatives that empower women and create lasting change in communities. This month is a celebration of women like Edith who paved the way and those who continue to drive progress for future generations. ' ?? Oklahoma has one of the highest rates of female incarceration in the world, and ReMerge of Oklahoma County is changing that story. Through comprehensive treatment, recovery, and career support, ReMerge provides a second chance for high-risk mothers facing non-violent felony charges—helping them reunite with their children and rebuild their futures. Today, Inasmuch Foundation celebrates the birthday of its founder, Edith Kinney Gaylord, born on March 5, 1916 in Oklahoma City. ???? A trailblazing journalist and philanthropist, Edith's legacy of compassion and generosity serve as a guiding light for the Foundation's ongoing mission. As the first female reporter on the The Associated Press's general news staff in Washington, D.C., Edith broke barriers in journalism. Her dedication to serving others led Edith to establish Inasmuch Foundation in 1982, embodying the spirit of "inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these, my brethren, ye have done it unto me."
