关于我们
At IN8 Create, we believe that every organization's most valuable asset is already within its walls: its people. Our mission is to help teams unlock their collective genius and tap into the wellspring of creativity, passion, and knowledge that often lies dormant due to workplace dynamics and social norms. The IN8 Create Approach Using methods like LEGO? Serious Play, design thinking, and custom-crafted workshops, we create environments where: ?Introverts engage as actively as extroverts ?Communication becomes clear and concise ?Listening is driven by genuine curiosity ?Focus and participation thrive ?Fun and memorability are guaranteed Our sessions are designed to bridge generational gaps, fostering collaboration across diverse age groups and experience levels. We don't just build teams; we architect innovations in teamwork. If you're like us, the team building events we grew up with were cringe worthy at best. Connection was limited and the design was expressly for extroverts. Contact us today for session options! "It allowed us to go beyond the surface level" "I saw people open up in a new way" "...It felt organic and genuine, which was something that contributed to a longer lasting sense of team."

Plato once said, “You can discover more about a person in one hour of play than in a year of conversation.” This week, I had the opportunity to see this in action with IN8 Create and Bright Path Financials. The session was built around play, using the LEGO Methodology to facilitate meaningful conversations in just 90 minutes. Through this approach, we explored our similarities, learned more about our coworkers, and engaged in deeper reflections on who we are and why we are. It was an incredibly creative and insightful way to see how training can foster human connection as a cultural foundation in the workplace. Thank you again for allowing me to take part and PLAY! #LearningThroughPlay #HumanConnection #WorkplaceCulture #LegoMethodology

Play, Creativity, Connection.... All with a few simple bricks (and maybe a rubber chicken) ?? Does this sound like something your team could use?
Meet Clarence... When I bring Clarence to work, amazing things happen to team dynamics Smiles, joy, a bit of mischievousness - our inner child craves these things and unlocks creativity when we let it out. Yet our adult self constantly pushes for the factual, the logical, the "professional" ?? This clash between playful and serious creates fascinating workplace dynamics. Think about your recent meetings. You've probably spotted child-like behaviors everywhere: -The attention-seeker who derails discussions -The boss who must make every idea their own -The person who wilts at the slightest critique After running 100+ team workshops, I've learned to watch for these moments - like when the extrovert tries dominating the group, or my favorite, the gleeful smile when someone first opens their LEGO kit. Child like behaviors can be both good and bad, it depends on context and expression. That's why Clarence, my rubber chicken, comes to work with me. He sits there during serious strategy discussions, initially drawing confused looks. But something magical happens - he becomes a permission slip for everyone to loosen up. I've watched engineering teams transform from rigid problem-solvers to creative innovators. The quiet ones suddenly speak up. The dominating voices actually listen. The LEGO Serious Play method works on similar principles. Rules like "the builder cannot be wrong" and "everyone gets a turn" create safety for our playful selves to emerge. When that happens, teams connect on a deeper level. And honestly? Our child self is way more fun. Laughter is contagious in the best possible way. So next time you need fresh thinking from your team, try bringing your inner child to work, or get your own "Clarence"

Systems help us see flows, impacts, and constraints. Building a physical system amplifies our understanding. What could you learn from building your organizational system?
"When a subsystem’s goals dominate at the expense of the total system’s goals, the resulting behavior is called suboptimization." - "Systems Thinking" That team conflict? It might Be suboptimization, not personalities You've seen this... ??The brilliant engineer who won't collaborate but gets promoted for individual contributions ??The marketing team that hits all their campaign metrics while creating impossible promises for customer service ??The sales division that crushes their targets by offering deals that hurt long-term profitability We naturally optimize for what we can see and what we're measured on. When those metrics don't align with the broader system, problems cascade. I love this metaphor from "Systems Thinking": "If a body cell breaks free from its hierarchical function and starts multiplying wildly, we call it cancer." When you step back, it becomes easier to see. The solution isn't to stop incentivizing individual or team performance. Rather, it's helping people visualize how their work connects to the larger system. This is why in our work with teams, we focus on building literal models of their organizational ecosystem - who they impact, who impacts them, and how value flows through the entire system. When teams can see these connections, their decision-making naturally evolves from "What's best for us?" to "What's best for ALL of us" This can also be helpful to design or evaluate incentives. How have you seen suboptimization impact your world? #teambuilding #teamdevelopment #leaderhship

Great teams can be life affirming, and bad teams life draining. We're excited to see what comes of this!

My 2nd book is underway (gulp). And, I don't have it all figured out for sure. So, I am looking for your help. Have you ever been on a team that outperformed expectations? Have you ever joined a team made you feel like anything was possible? Have you ever been a part of a collective or group that flat out succeeded? Are you a leader or a member of a team right now? Are you just a fan of Alanis Morissette (like me)? If you answered yes to any of these, do me a solid, and: Click the link ?? in the comments. Take the short survey (average of 5 minutes). Help me get my next book out the door and into the world. Then, go back and listen to Alanis (Jagged Little Pill). She rocks. Thank you. ------------ ?? Repost this post for visibility. ?? Send the link to friends, family, or fellow team members. ?? Ask me for a favor in return (and I will be there).

As we close out another Hackweek + Onsite for the #Brigit team, I wanted to give a shout-out to the vendors and businesses that supported me in planning it all! Being an office coordinator is sometimes correlated with being a magician; turning around events and spaces on the fly and making it a seamless experience. Thank you again to my partners-in-planning for making the magic happen. Jordan Ottinger + Christopher Eckhoff | Fooda , for not only helping me create an interesting, international menu for the week ; but also for adjusting order amounts on the fly, adding in additional orders and following up with the restaurants regarding allergens. Alice S.D. Smith | Puttery ; for help in planning a super fun Mini-Golf event on such short notice! The food, the drinks, the games... All superb. So much appreciation to the staff for adjusting with us on the fly, and checking for allergens with the kitchen! Brandon Wetzstein | IN8 Create ; Brandon and his team held a dynamic, engaging play to learn session. Our team showed incredible creativity, and learned so much about each other. Highly recommend for both large and small team building events. Lily Medalia | Bowlero Lanes ; While it's not our first booking with Bowlero, Lily and the team onsite kept the experience fresh and fun for everyone. Our event host was the ultimate hype person and kept each group energized through the night. And of course, a huge thank you to the team at Brigit! Events can be planned out the wazoo, but it is the people that make them successful (and the Brigit vibe was impeccable this week ? )

I spent yesterday at PCMA New York Area Chapter's winter social, where Brandon Wetzstein from IN8 Create ran a 'Serious Play' LEGO workshop I've wanted to try for years. We built models representing what we love outside of work, our strengths, and our special skills. Here are mine: ?? Traveling (shocking, I know) ?? Balancing structure and creativity ?? Design thinking (shoutout to my grids) My favorite part was hearing everyone's stories. Explaining our creations led to conversations about our personal experiences, how we approach problems, and what matters to us. This definitely beats exchanging business cards! #PCMA #PCMANY
