This week, InUnity Alliance had the opportunity to visit The Child Center of NY. Founded in 1953, they now offer 100 programs in 70 locations, including substance use disorder and mental health services. One of their standout initiatives is a nursery that ensures childcare is never a barrier to seeking care. We were treated to delicious chocolate-covered strawberries from local small business?#MammaofSweets. This special room for kids was donated by the New York Mets. #SubstanceUseDisorder #Addiction #MentalHealth #Recovery

Last week, our team joined InUnity Alliance for a successful day of advocacy in the state capital and lobbied for a fair investment into essential human services. We rallied for increased funding in the governor's budget proposal and a 7.8 percent human services cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) to address inflation and the $500 million COLA funding deficit between 2007 and 2024. Additionally, we advocated for enhanced Medicaid rates that include substance use disorder and mental health services in Managed Care Organization tax funding initiatives. Thank you to Sarah DuVall and Jihoon Kim, LMSW, CRPA-P with InUnity Alliance for hosting such an impactful day!
