The FAA updated its policy for Earth return, now requiring that reentry vehicle operators secure authorization to reenter prior to launching to orbit. The ability for the FAA and related authorities to streamline the application and evaluation process will be key to supporting the increase in applications as reentry operators seek to return from space at an unpreceded cadence. In Orbit will continue to adhere to latest regulation as authorities shift their process to support the increase in demand while ensuring public safety. https://lnkd.in/g_5dBWNn

To say the launch of SCHOOLHOUSE was fantastic would be an understatement. From panels of top-notch industry and government expects, a captivating keynote speech on leadership by Admiral William H. McRaven, and a community that could not be assembled anywhere else, it had all of the makings to inspire and execute revolutionary progress for national security and special operations. Are we GO for docking? ??-?? In Orbit Aerospace was recently awarded an AFWERX contract to develop docking technology under a Small Business Technology Transfer. Such technologies are crucial to rendezvous and docking capabilities for refueling, debris, and other needed In-Space Servicing, Assembly and Manufacturing activities. https://lnkd.in/gUB-b8MG

We've secured a $1.8M contract to develop and test our spacecraft docking technology that will be core to our commercial and defense mission areas. This technology has the potential to be a key enabler for the future of on-orbit operations including satellite servicing, debris remediation, and in-space manufacturing. Last week I got the opportunity to represent In Orbit Aerospace at Capital Factory during SXSW in Austin, TX. This year, there was a huge focus on #aerospace and #defense with a great showcase of new technologies, and representation from #USSF, #NASA, and A&D primes. It was also great to meet new friends and catch up with cohort members from Techstars, #AWS Space Accelerator, and others building revolutionary companies: Prewitt Ridge, Little Place Labs, Charter, Whisper Aero, Solideon, Raven Space Systems, VetsinTech, Michael Moreno, ahmed mousa ??, Seena Vajed, Oliver Muoto, Vincent A. Had a great time last week overseas starting with the #HealthFromSpace Conference hosted by SpacePharma. Big thanks for Paul Kamoun, PhD and Yossi Yamin for inviting me as a panel speaker! It was also the third session of Creative Destruction Lab at University of Oxford with a fantastic dinner at the Balliol college and a keynote speech by Astrophysicist Chris Lintott. And a final stop at my alma matter, the University of Leicester, where my former professor, Nigel Bannister, showed me around the fantastic Space Park Leicester. Lastly, I had a fantastic opportunity to speak with the current Space Exploration Systems cohort about In Orbit Aerospace's journey.
