Yesterday we held our 'Data Integrity' event, in partnership with CyberPrism, bringing together industry experts, ex military and GCHQ personnel and an audience that included major energy operators, for a thought-provoking discussion on data integrity. Our speakers highlighted some key takeaways: Data integrity is as much about culture and mindset as it is about technology. Building trust in data is complex- it’s not just about assuming accuracy but about understanding the level of confidence required and the reasons behind it. It involves evaluating data quality, reliability, and how much uncertainty can be tolerated for informed decision-making. Creating a strong data culture starts from the top, starting with awareness and education before jumping to solutions. Hands-on exercises are one of the most effective ways to educate teams and can be even more valuable than traditional training. Simulating worst-case scenarios makes potential risks more tangible and allows organisations to prepare for real-world challenges. Entitled 'Data Integrity: The Key to Intelligent Operations' we will dive deep into the importance of data integrity in driving intelligent operations in an industrial setting. This will be an insightful discussion on how maintaining the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data is crucial for making informed decisions and optimising business processes. Learn from industry experts and network with like-minded professionals. First in the line up is Martin Smith CB MBE DL, Managing Director at Cyber Prism Limited. During a 33 year military career, Martin Smith worked extensively in maritime security and maintained a strong focus on information superiority. He headed up the military contribution to shipping and oil & gas security, modernised the Royal Marines’ information and intelligence capability, commanded multinational counter-piracy operations and was responsible for Britain’s amphibious force. He spent three periods in Afghanistan, in both command and high-level advisory roles, in addition to several other operational deployments Worldwide. He commanded service personnel at every rank and left the Armed Forces in January 2018 having led the Nation’s 7,000 Royal Marines as their Commandant General.
