October 31st – A crisp energy fills the air at imPRESSions Worldwide’s headquarters. It’s Halloween, but instead of the usual ghosts and goblins, the team is focused on the important task at hand—rust proofing, loading and shipping the first half of the new Pressline for the Dallas Morning News at its new facility in Carrollton, Texas. ? Phase 1 begins with the loading of Press A onto the first of nine tractors pulling 53-foot Conestoga trailers. It’s all hands on deck as each truck is carefully packed with units, folder, splicers, crates and components weighing more than 300,000 pounds in all. By Monday, November 4th, five of these fully loaded trucks arrive in Texas, where the imPRESSions Worldwide installation team stands ready to unload and begin setup. Comprised of five of imPRESSions Worldwide’s most seasoned employees—with a combined 200 years of experience—the team is equipped to handle the challenge. Beginning a week of many changes - Phase 1 alone involves the installation of 24 Goss SSC Single wide Printing Units, nine Megtec Splicers, one N40 Folder, three consoles, three motors and controllers, and 6 angle bars. Each piece is both heavy and highly technical, holding the potential to bring Dallas’s premier Newspaper to life in Print, in a new space. At the Carrollton plant, the team is hard at work, laying the groundwork for the new Single Wide Press setup. With every carefully coordinated move they work to off-load, and assemble equipment across the sprawling empty space. Soon this space will transform into a fully functional, state-of-the-art Production facility. The Press has Perretta remote ink, Technotrans spray bars, and DCOS closed loop register, density and cut-off control. The ultrasonic web detection is handled by US Automation and the Press is equipped with MasterFlo Ink levelers. Meanwhile, back at headquarters, Phase II is coming along nicely. Another set of 24 Goss SSC Printing Units, dubbed Press B, are being prepped for shipment in late December. This installation promises to be transformative for the Dallas Morning News, ushering in a new era of efficient, high-quality Printing. ? Isabella Gilmore recently spent an exciting two days touring the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she and her father, David Gilmore (VP of Sales for imPRESSions Worldwide), explored the campus that may soon be her academic home. While there, Isabella picked up a copy of The Daily Tar Heel, UNC's student-run newspaper, immersing herself in campus culture as she prepares to apply to their prestigious Bachelor of Science Dental Hygiene program. #newspaper, #thetarheel, #print, #ink, #press Set to complete her Associate Degree in Life Sciences at San Diego’s Mesa College in December, Isabella has built a strong foundation for her future in dental health. Not only does she excel in her studies but she also dedicates time to shadowing at two area dental offices, gaining hands-on experience that sets her apart. Her passion for learning and patient care is further complemented by her dedication to Mesa College’s swim team, where she brings her enthusiasm and commitment to every session. Isabella's recent visit to UNC, with her Dad in tow, reinforced her commitment to joining the dental hygiene field. Her journey to UNC Chapel Hill is just one more step in a promising path as she prepares to make her mark in healthcare and so much more.

Eric began his career in the early 2000s as a Pressman’s helper in the Printing industry, quickly advancing due to his strong work ethic and mechanical skills. In 2009, he joined ImPRESSions Worldwide, where he started with basic tasks but soon took on more complex projects like machine teardowns, rebuilds, and Press installations across the U.S. and internationally. In 2014, fearing the Printing industry slowing down, Eric pursued a new challenge in aerospace. He applied his precision skills to work with press brakes and hydroform machines, shaping metal to .001” tolerances. He later transitioned to CNC machining, mastering machine setup and fine-tuning to ensure part accuracy, broadening his technical expertise even further. After a number of years Eric started to yearn for something different. So, he decided to step away and do some soul-searching—where else, but in the Himalayas? Just kidding, he settled for Whitley City, Kentucky instead(Because when you’re seeking inner peace, Kentucky's rolling hills are practically the next best thing, right?). Then came the call from ImPRESSions Worldwide. The opportunity to return to the company where he had first honed his mechanical expertise was too tempting to pass up. Like many imPRESSions' Technicians, Eric has the flexibility to live out of state and travel for work. Eric’s top hobby is fishing, a passion he shares with his wife, Jessica, with whom he has been together for 19 years. He also enjoys strumming the guitar and singing around the campfire with his family and friends. Now, after years of experience across different industries, Eric is back at ImPRESSions Worldwide, ready to put his unique skills to use. Whether it's operating, maintaining, rigging, installing Presses, or machining with pinpoint accuracy. “We are thrilled to have Eric back. He brings a great blend of youth and experience. Hats off to our friend at technotrans Congratulations to Mike Niemiro! Mike recently dropped off his son Matthew at Harvard where he will begin his pursuit of a phD in Mathematics. Many of you may know Mike from his many years of service at Technotrans. This photo was taken last week in front of the Harvard Crimson, the nation’s oldest continually published college newspaper. The Goss Community Press in the basement was expanded by imPRESSions in 2004. In 2004, Press units installed in the newspaper’s basement over winter break enabled the broadsheet to print up to four pages in full-color—introducing cyan, magenta and yellow to The Crimson’s Presses for the first time since in-house printing began in 1895. #thecrimson, #Harvard, #Technostrans
