When joining a company as a junior, the best thing you can wish for is for a senior to have your back. Because let’s be real: - Talent alone isn’t enough. - Hard work only gets you so far. - Without guidance, the best potential can go unrealised. The best juniors don’t just need a job. They need: - leaders, - mentors, - managers and role models who care. Because when you know someone’s got your back: - You take bigger risks. - You achieve more. - You grow faster. Agree? ??

  • In workplace #wellness and #safety only two words matter ... Do Better. This post brings these two words clearly into focus. Learn how DRUID can help your organization do better. https://lnkd.in/emzRq-Re

"I’ve been a server for a few years now, and I’ve seen it all—good tippers, bad tippers, the ones who stack their plates like they’re helping, and the ones who leave their tables looking like a tornado hit. But this one? This was new. It was a slow Tuesday night, and I had a table of two—a couple who seemed pleasant enough. I gave them my usual service: took their order with a smile, checked in once or twice, refilled their drinks, and brought the check. When I came back to clear the table, I noticed they hadn’t left a tip. Instead, scrawled on the receipt in big, bold letters were two words: “Do better.” I stared at it, dumbfounded. At first, I was pissed. Do better? I wasn’t rude, I got their food out in time, and they ate every bite without a single complaint. What more did they want? I vented to my coworkers in the back. “Can you believe this? No tip, just ‘do better.’ Who does that?” Some agreed it was rude, others shrugged it off. But as the night went on, the words stuck with me. Do better. Maybe it was just meant to be an insult, but what if it wasn’t? What if it was a challenge? I decided right then—I was going to take the advice. The next shift, I paid attention like never before. I greeted guests with extra enthusiasm. I learned the names of my regulars. I anticipated needs before they asked, kept drinks topped off, and made sure every dish was exactly how they wanted it. I even studied the menu more so I could make the best recommendations. Days turned into weeks, and something surprising happened—I started getting more tips. Bigger ones. Customers remembered me, requested my section, and left glowing reviews. Even my manager took notice and gave me better shifts. One night, another couple came in, ordered dinner, and chatted with me throughout their meal. When they left, I grabbed the receipt, half-expecting the usual 15-20%. But this time, there was a note that read: “Best service we’ve had in a long time. Keep doing what you’re doing.” And right below it? A 50% tip. I smiled, tucking the receipt into my apron. Whoever had written “Do better” that night—I’ll never know if they meant it as a dig or a push. But either way, I took it, ran with it, and I did better. And it paid off." Credit: Meme of the Day

Cannabis, Cocktails & Science—Quite the Valentine’s Weekend! Just wrapped up an interesting clinical study in Boston. A perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s weekend for a love affair with science.?? We looked at how alcohol and cannabis affects cognitive and psychomotor impairment differently in different individuals. To measure real-time impairment, we used the #DRUID app from Impairment Science, Inc. and DRE assessments before and after dosing. ?Key takeaway- Impairment is subjective. More on this later. Participants in the alcohol dosing study had lower inhibitions—getting louder, more social (or aggressive), and taking more risks as the levels went up—followed by drowsiness, as it wears off. Cannabis users, on the other hand, were more relaxed, giggly, some with elevated blood pressure, but still showed cognitive and motor impairments. Understanding and measuring subjective impairment is critical for safety-sensitive industries where fitness for duty is non-negotiable. As impairment detection evolves, we need smarter tools like the #DRUID app to assess fitness for duty in real time. What are your thoughts on improving workplace safety with modern technology? #WorkplaceSafety #ImpairmentDetection #FitForDuty #DRUID #DRE #THINKTOX #ImpairmentScience

  • How important is your balance? DRUID uses balance measurement as a component to measure your level of impairment. Thanks to Thomas Tsangaras for sharing. #AI #innovation #technology #wellness #safety https://lnkd.in/ejsuvpBu

They say the hardest thing to find is balance. This must include work-life balance, right? ?? But what does work-life balance actually mean? - For some, it’s shutting the laptop at 5 pm sharp. - For others, it’s finding joy in their work, - and fulfilment and meaning. - And for many, it’s simply not feeling guilty about taking time to recharge. Like with many things in life, balance looks different to everyone. But one thing is clear: when we lose it, we could be in serious trouble. Agree???
