NUME 2024 looked like this! We had more attendees than ever before, rich industry information, and engaging activities. Here are the highlights: Michael Jeanfreau blew our minds with all of the data he shared about the state of manufacturing in Utah and how economic factors are impacting it. Doug McKnight encouraged everyone to have plans A, B, C and maybe even D to keep their supply chains fit. Panelists from Campbell Scientific, NextCentury Submetering Solutions, Little Spring Water, and Pepperidge Farm talked about how they've preserved their culture through growing pains. We are so lucky to have Paul Nelson of Northrop Grumman take the stage and help us understand the big reality shifts taking place right now in manufacturing around the world. Utah Manufacturers Association's Todd Bingham took the stage to hand out our first-ever Northern Utah Manufacturing Excellence Awards. Thanks, Todd and UMA! Meet Jennifer Pettinger, the CEO and owner of Sun Print Solutions, a Sun Litho Company, a historic local printing company she purchased in 2019 with her business partner Sara D. With the presidential election quickly approaching, Sun Print Solutions in West Valley City has been ramping up to endure the most chaotic season in their business. Sun Print is the go-to for printing and mailing of election materials, working with political teams all over the country. The average order for a political piece is 100,000 units, and some of their orders require more than $1 million in postage alone. While some may argue that Sun Print is a manufacturing company, Jennifer says they absolutely are. They take clients' ideas and make them reality.
