This week's topic is something that can have serious unforeseen consequences if it's not dealt with properly. For better or for worse, multiple layers of material is a common sight in multifamily units. It often falls to onsite teams to make the call on when to demo vs when to lay over. And, while it's true that you can sometimes save money by skipping the demo, installing over a less than stable foundation -- i.e. material that is slipping, lifting or has gaps -- is a recipe for disaster that often results in higher long-term costs and repeat vendor visits.
