关于我们
Impact NV is a 501(c)(3) non-profit catalyst organization, founded in 2008, that is dedicated to building community through collaborative partnerships for a more sustainable future. We work at the 50,000 foot level to document and celebrate the successes of our community and to pinpoint and take collective action in our region's highest priority areas. ImpactNV publishes Nevada's only State of Sustainability report, we hot an annual sustainability summit called ConveneNV, and we manage the Shared Future Fund, an impact fund focused on supporting women and children affected by trauma (particularly in the areas of counter trafficking, homelessness, and immigrant integration.)

In celebration of Nevada Day on October 31st, we’re thrilled to share our vision for a greener, healthier future with our statewide initiative: the 10-Year, 100,000 Tree Program! ?? Our goal? To plant 100,000 drought-tolerant and adaptive trees in vulnerable communities across Nevada. These areas face challenges like low tree equity scores, limited access to green spaces, and disproportionately poor air quality—issues we’re committed to addressing. These trees will not only beautify our communities but also help combat urban heat islands, improve air quality, and enhance overall community resilience. But we can’t do it alone! Your donations will help us get closer to our goal and make a lasting impact on the lives of Nevadans. Thank you to Dave Ray, Justin Jones, and Colby Pellegrino for your participation in the video and your urban forestry leadership. Join us in this mission to create a healthier, greener Nevada for all! ???? We are hoping that the very hottest days of summer are behind us and either way, we are starting to plan fall plantings in support of our 10 Year 100,000 Tree Plan! As always, we aim to balance: the needs for increased canopy; heat island resistance and remediation; reducing water usage; species diversity and pest resilience; and putting trees in places that need them most. This fall, in particular, we will be focusing on planting trees in census blocks that have officially been classified as disadvantaged by the Climate and Economic Justice Screening Tool (CEJST). CEJST was created to support President Biden's Executive Oder 14008 and the the Justice40 Initiative which "seeks to deliver 40% of the overall benefits of investments in climate, clean energy, and related areas to disadvantaged communities." The CEJST tool "uses datasets that are indicators of burdens in eight categories: climate change, energy, health, housing, legacy pollution, transportation, water and wastewater, and workforce development. The tool uses this information to identify communities that are experiencing these burdens. These are the communities that are disadvantaged because they are overburdened and underserved." We have identified dozens of disadvantaged census blocks in northern and southern Nevada and, with our planting partners, we will be using funding from the Inflation Reduction Act's Urban and Community Forestry grant program to plant more trees where they are needed most. We will provide more information as plantings occur and information can always be found at https://lnkd.in/gaWrKTA2. #sustainablenevada #sustainableurbanforestry
