Industry classifications are a critical building block in the management of sustainability issues. They underpin resources that guide companies in their materiality assessments and strategy development, provide a basis for developing benchmarks and ratings, which in turn help investors to build portfolios. ? But the proliferation of industry classifications by public and private market actors impedes connectivity across resources. And industry classifications are not always fit for purpose for impact management. In a new review, the Impact Management Platform: ? ? Reviews the use of industry classifications in impact management ? Highlights challenges and limitations ? Recommends actions for the providers of industry classifications, standard-setters Find it here: https://lnkd.in/e9Stt4S8
