???? Incredible news! We just wrapped up an amazing month of vision screenings with FocusFirst. Our AL team screened 2,663 children and our South Carolina team screened 2,542, totaling 5,205 children across the Southeast in August! ???? It's been an amazing journey, and we're grateful for the chance to make a real impact in the lives of young ones. We're getting closer to reaching our goal of screening one million children! ?? Attention all newlyweds! ?? Summer wedding season may be winding down, but the excitement doesn't have to end there! Take a look at our exclusive newlywed checklist of 6 tips for a stress-free tax season! Trust us, you won't want to miss out on these savvy tax-saving strategies! #ImpactAmerica #MakeAnImpact #SaveFirst #Newlyweds #TaxTips ?????? 1. Know your tax filing options. The marital status as of December 31 determines the tax filing status for that year. 2. Report your name change. If there is a change in your name you must make this change with the Social Security Administration. The name on your tax return must match what is on file with the SSA, if not, any refund you may be entitled to can be delayed. Form SS-5, Application for a Social Security Card can be completed to report a name change. 3. Update your address. Newlyweds may need to update their address with their employer, the United States Postal Service, and the IRS Form 8822 Change of Address must be completed and submitted to make an official update of a mailing address with the IRS. 4. Update withholding information with employer(s). Within 10 days, newlyweds must submit a new Form W-4, Employee’s Withholding Certificate. If both spouses work, they may move into a higher tax bracket. Newlyweds can use the Tax Withholding Estimator on IRS.gov to check their withholding and for help completing a new Form W-4. 5. Review filing status. Newlyweds can decide to file jointly or separately each year, and they must determine what will work best for them. 6. Beware of scams. Be on alert for tax scams. The IRS will never contact taxpayers by email, phone calls, social media, or text message.
