It was wonderful to bring together friends of Impact Network and PEAS at the Gala for Impact to celebrate our partnership and raise vital funds to support education in Africa. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended the Gala for Impact! Special thanks to our Impact Network Board members and Leo Lion Foundation for helping make the event such a success. Together with PEAS (Promoting Equality in African Schools), we’re thrilled to expand our reach, bringing quality education to over 200,000 of the most underserved students across 376 schools in Zambia, Uganda, and Ghana each year. When we opened our first classroom in Joel village, reaching hundreds of thousands of children felt like a distant dream—but today, it’s a reality. Thank you all for making this possible!

Congratulations to our friends at PROMOTING EQUALITY IN AFRICAN SCHOOLS (PEAS) for winning the UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education! This award recognizes their outstanding and innovative contributions to advance girls’ and women’s education in Uganda.
We are proud to announce that PEAS has won the UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education, which honours outstanding and innovative contributions to advance girls’ and women’s education. This prize celebrates our efforts to empower thousands of marginalised girls across #Uganda. At PEAS, our mission is about more than just getting girls into school; it’s about supporting them to succeed. We foster safe, nurturing environments where girls can truly thrive. Our Girls' Clubs are designed to build confidence, while our gender-responsive teacher training accelerates their learning. More than half of PEAS' 16,000 students in Uganda are girls, and we’re seeing their futures transform in ways their communities never imagined. We’d like to also congratulate CAMFED - Campaign for Female Education, our fellow laureate and partner, for their remarkable work supporting girls’ education in Africa. Together, we are paving the way for a brighter future for girls across the continent. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/er2WUnui #girlseducation #secondaryeducation

We are excited to grow our partnership with our friends at PEAS as we collaborate to improve education across the Eastern Province of Zambia. Check out this post on how PEAS are building two new secondary schools.
We are over the moon to announce that PEAS are building two new schools in Zambia – PEAS Pembele in Chirundu District and PEAS Chikalaba in Sinda District – marking our first school in #EasternProvince! In the words of Zambian Minister of Education, Douglas Syakalima, “When we educate a child, we are sowing the seeds of a stronger, more resilient nation.” These new schools will offer vital facilities, including science and ICT labs, ensuring students are equipped with essential 21st-century skills. Scheduled to open in January 2025, the schools will initially have the capacity to educate 440 students each, with 160 dormitory spaces, which will increase as they grow. This marks the start of a transformative journey, impacting not just students but their families and communities, and contributing to Zambia’s future. Thank you to our key partner Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office for their invaluable support in bringing these schools to life. Want to learn more? Imagine living without power for 21 hours a day due to power cuts. The drought in Zambia is disrupting daily lives and education. Read this blog to learn more about how #climatechange impacts education.
For a third consecutive year, Zambia’s drought tops the list of the world’s most underreported crises. Although it may not dominate your newsfeed, Zambia is grappling with its worst drought in over four decades.?Rivers have run dry, hydropower has failed, and 21-hour #powercuts are now a daily reality for millions. At PEAS, we see this crisis up close every day in the rural communities where we work. It is a stark reminder that the #climatecrisis is not just about rising temperatures and unpredictable weather patterns – it is about lost livelihoods and futures. Read this blog written by Dr Amosi Chipasi, PhD, PEAS' School Network Senior Manager in Zambia, to find out how #climatechange is disrupting education in Zambia, and what PEAS is doing to support and empower the students and communities we serve. ?https://lnkd.in/eFSG72vm

We are excited to partner with Together Women Rise on our Impact Girls Program. Through this partnership we will empower girls and women through Menstrual Health Workshops, GLOW Clubs (Girls Leading Our World Clubs), the NetGirls Zambia League, Financial Literacy for Women, a student mentor program and more!?
When girls gain an #education, they open the door to a brighter future for themselves, their families, communities, countries, and beyond. We're partnering with Impact Network International to support the Impact Girls Program which empowers rural girls and young women in Zambia by addressing issues such as limited agency in decisions related to health, and scarcity of essential menstrual health hygiene materials and knowledge. https://loom.ly/yMtNFSE #GenderEquality #TogetherWomenRise #MenstrualHealth
