Today, we shine a spotlight on: Skya Ducheneaux - As Executive Director of Akiptan, Inc, a Community Development Finance Institution (CDFI) Skya leads the work to move capital into more Native and Indigenous communities.?The organization’s mission is to transform Native agriculture and food economies by delivering creative capital, leading paradigm changes, and enhancing producer prosperity across Indian Country. To date, they have reached 28 Indigenous nations, with $22M in committed capital across 334 loans. Akiptan is a Lakota word meaning together, in a joint effort, or cooperatively. Makisha Boothe – Founder and Head Business Coach of Sistahbiz Global Network, Makisha is on a mission to empower Black women entrepreneurs. Sistahbiz offers training, coaching, and a supportive community to help Black women solopreneurs and microbusinesses build scalable, sellable enterprises. Patricia Foley Hinnen - Patricia started Capital Sisters International to raise business capital for impoverished women in developing countries and to promote gender lens investing. Today as CEO, she continues to move more money into the hands of women across the globe. Since 1998, she has helped establish seven domestic and international microfinance organizations under the Capital Sisters umbrella, raised loan capital for 100,000 women’s businesses in 25 countries, and served as a microfinance and gender advisor to the State Department Throughout this month, we look forward to highlighting more of our valued partnerships. Too often, aging homeowners struggle to maintain housing stability, facing foreclosure risks, tax burdens, or other financial crises that threaten their ability to stay in their homes. That’s why we’re piloting Aging in Place—a program designed to provide one-time stabilization grants that prevent housing loss and preserve family assets. This initiative has been co-created alongside community members and organizations across the Western Slope of Colorado, ensuring it meets the needs of those it serves. Launching end of Q1 2025!
