Who remembers the BiD Challenge from BiD Capital Partners (or BiD Network, as we were then) ? We would love to re-connect with any companies that participated in one of the many BiD Challenges. These events connected high potential SMEs in underserved markets with expert mentors to support in business skills development and pitching for investment. The programme culminated in a Pitch competition to crown the Global Champion! This programme was an innovation for its time, and changed the way that investors connect with business in emerging markets. ?? A New Chapter with BiD Capital Partners ?? Today marks a significant milestone in my journey with BiD Capital Partners, which began in April 2018 when I joined what was then Stichting BiD Network. My mission was to help transform it into an #impact-first #investmentadvisoryfirm. My connection with BiD, however, runs deeper, as I have always admired their commitment to supporting impactful entrepreneurs in the global south. BiD Network offered me the chance to help build an impact-first #EntrepreneurSupportOrganisation. With Close the Gap as our anchor investor and Mark Mutaahi ’s expertise, we rebranded as BiD Capital Partners . Brenda Pennell also joined us, and her leadership in expanding our fund management capabilities has been pivotal. As CEO, I embraced the challenges, helping to establish fully operational offices in #EastAfrica, which now serve #SMEs, #developmentagencies, and #investors. I am excited to announce that I’ll be transitioning to the role of #ChairoftheBoard, supporting our new management team—Mark and Brenda—as they continue to drive our mission forward. To everyone who has been part of this journey, thank you! I’m proud to say I now have a large family in Africa. Now, I’m off for a short summer break before the next chapter begins. Stay tuned! ???
