On Wednesday ICM members and partners gathered in Washington D.C. for the first day of our Spring Convening to exchange ideas, build meaningful connections, and explore the future of impact investing. From dynamic discussions on policy and artificial intelligence to deep dives into impact measurement and management, employee ownership, and natural resource conservation, the convening showcased the power of collaboration in driving positive change. Statement from Marieke Spence, Executive Director of Impact Capital Managers, on the Passing of Nathan Taft: "We are heartbroken by the passing of Nathan Taft, a cherished member of the Impact Capital Managers community and a dedicated director on our association board. Nathan will be remembered as a warm and effective leader, generous with his time, expertise, and good humor. He helped to grow impact investing as an industry into what it is today. His work extended far beyond his tenure as CIO at Jonathan Rose Companies. Nathan sat on many boards, including Impact Capital Managers, Goddard Riverside, and the Yale-China Association. Andrew Garrett, MPA enjoyed facilitating a fireside conversation with Kelsey Jarrett of SJF Ventures, a founding member of Impact Capital Managers. The discussion covered Kelsey’s IMM journey, SJF’s evolving impact work, key impact indicators that serve portfolio companies, and how GPs can collaborate with service providers like UpMetrics and 60 Decibels to refine surveys, data, dashboards, and decision-making. We also highlighted ICM’s 2025 research project, which will focus on IMM from the portfolio company perspective.
