National Vietnam War Veterans Day will honor those who served. Plan to attend a remembrance and commemoration on Friday, March 28th, 2025, at Veterans Memorial Park in Houston, with featured guest speaker Colonel Robin P. Ritchie, U.S. Army, retired. Col Ritchie commanded the last U.S. Infantry company on the Vietnam DMZ. He will have an inspirational message to share. Col Ritchie has more than twenty-seven years of service in both the active and reserve components of the U.S. Army. Impact A Hero honored Col Ritchie during our annual Impact A Hero Legacy of Freedom Gala, Hall of Fame Class 2023. Sharing the mission of Impact A Hero during the Houston Police Department Veteran's Resource Fair has been filled with wonderful conversation and introductions. Thank you to Senior Police Officer Rebecca Vargas, Employee Service Division - Military Liason, and US Army veteran, for inviting Impact A Hero to participate and for your leadership in hosting such an important event for the nearly 1300 Houston area first responders who have served or continue to serve in our nation's armed forces. The Houston Police Department Military Liaison Unit assists HPD employees with military and city benefits, provides care packages to deployed veteran employees, and provides guidance and assistance to all Veterans employed by HPD.
