Let’s dive into cell labelling! In this series, partner Danielle Vugts from Amsterdam UMC explains more about cell dynamics, labelling and strategies and how Immune-Image is benefitting this. We will kick-off with the question: what is the significance of cell labelling? #CellLabelling #Tracers #CancerTreatment #Immunotherapy #PET

To set up a sustainable & flexible platform for molecular imaging of immune cell dynamics using novel tracer strategies.
关于我们
Our vision is to set up a sustainable and flexible platform for molecular imaging of immune cell dynamics using novel tracer strategies. New immunotracers will enable smart monitoring of immunotherapies and widespread usage of a personalized medicine approach. This project has received funding from the Innovative Medicines Initiative 2 Joint Undertaking under grant agreement No 831514. This Joint Undertaking receives support from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and EFPIA.

Defending your PhD and publishing your second paper in PNAS in the same week is nothing short of remarkable! Great job, Yoline Lauwers?? Here's to celebrating this milestone and the exciting opportunities ahead! ??
Last Friday, I successfully defended my PhD in Medical Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. My thesis,?"One step closer to personalized cancer treatment: immune-cell imaging and therapy follow-up with nanobody-based tracers,"?represents years of dedication and collaboration to advance cancer research through molecular imaging. To make this moment even more special, my second research paper was published yesterday in?PNAS!?Check out the link below?to dive into the work behind it. I am profoundly grateful to my promotors:?Nick Devoogdt,?Jo Van Ginderachter, and?Timo De Groof, for their invaluable guidance and mentorship throughout this journey. To my amazing colleagues at?MITH Brussel?and?BCIM, thank you for enriching my PhD experience. Your friendship and support made these four years truly unforgettable. A special thanks to?Immune-Image—this project would not have been possible without your unwavering support. This journey has been an extraordinary mix of hard work, teamwork, and passion for advancing cancer care. Here’s to continuing the path toward personalized medicine! Last week, our consortium gathered in Brussels for the 5th annual meeting. This year, we took a different approach by having several scientists present their own research data. The presentations sparked insightful questions, stimulating discussions, and generated fresh ideas. A big thank you to everyone who contributed to making this year’s meeting an inspiring and productive networking event! We look forward to continuing the excellent scientific work over the next 18 months and, hopefully, beyond. #Immunotherapy #consortium #ImmuneImaging #MolecularImaging #CancerTreatment Partners: Amsterdam UMC, Roche, Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives, University of Tuebingen, The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, Bayer, Lygature, Novartis, Pfizer, Takeda, ttopstart , University of Cambridge, UMCG, Antaros Medical, Vall d'Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO), Vall d’Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR) - Vall d'Hebron Institut de Recerca, University of Münster, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, VIB, ImaginAb and LAWRENCIUM LEGAL.

Exciting news: the very first paper with a tracer newly developed in Immune-Image has been published! The study explores the development of a nanobody-based immunotracer for non-invasive imaging of CD8+ T-cell dynamics. This breakthrough could significantly improve the effectiveness and safety of immunotherapies by allowing early patient stratification through precise SPECT and PET imaging. Researchers Melinda Badenhorst, Bert Windhorst and Wissam Beaino from our coordinator Amsterdam UMC published a paper on PD-1/PD-L1 imaging tracers. They created an overview of current PET tracers targeting the PD-1/PD-L1 axis, and researched ways to optimize antibody, peptide, and antibody fragment with respect to their molecular characteristics and binding properties.
