Access to water can symbolize the larger challenges faced when adjusting to a new life—whether it's finding safe, reliable resources in a new country or adapting to unfamiliar systems. ?? In many immigrant communities, the struggle for basic needs like water, housing, and health services is a shared experience. Today, we stand in solidarity with those working to ensure that everyone, regardless of background, has access to clean water.

Global Roots, Hoosier Stories. Ali's journey began in 2001 when his family arrived in the U.S. as refugees from Afghanistan. After settling in Fort Wayne and pursuing his studies at Indiana University, Ali found a new home in Indianapolis, where he’s building his career as a realtor and growing his family. ?? Rooted in the values of kindness, gratitude, and respect, Ali embodies his Afghan heritage every day—whether through his work or in his interactions with the community. “I truly believe actions speak louder than words,” Ali says, as he honors his family's legacy by living it out in his daily life. ?? ?? Natural Helper of the Month: Noora Alnadheri ?? We’re proud to recognize Noora Alnadheri, who joined our Natural Helpers Program in March 2023. Originally from Yemen, Noora has made a significant impact by serving as an interpreter for our Naturalization Workshops and connecting Arabic-speaking clients to essential resources. Noora is passionate about supporting individuals through the challenges of adapting to a new country Recently, she has been assisting a Syrian family who arrived as refugees in Indianapolis, helping them find employment and translating important documents.

By 2032, the U.S. is projected to lack 4.6 million home care workers, leaving many without essential care. Immigrants are a vital part of this workforce, making up 28.4% of health aides and 15.9% of nurses in 2023. Their dedication and skills are crucial for providing quality care to our communities.
